Your first derby game attended on 16:15 - Dec 15 by PJH | I am not certain but the first that I know I was at was the F.A. Cup replay at PR in 1961/62. We lost that but the season did have its compensations. My first one at their place was September 1964. |
My first game also. I remember Norwich winning it 2-1 with a last minute goal. My dad and I managed to get through the turnstiles in the North Stand just before they closed the gates. At the time it was a new record attendance.

That game was my first derby at home too. Caught a 'Football Special' train for the away game. The train seats were either broken, missing and ripped to pieces. The windows, walls and floor were covered in graffiti. Not a lot of respect given to football fans then, for obvious reasons!

Your first derby game attended on 18:45 - Dec 15 with 1439 views | DarkBrandon | Milk Cup semi in 85. Won 1-0. Mich D’Avray, who had scored in every round up till then I’m sure that was a one-legged tie, and we went on to play at Wembley afterwards. Oh yes. Nobody tell me any differently. Please.
Your first derby game attended on 18:57 - Dec 15 with 1422 views | GeoffSentence | Boxing Day '77 1-0 defeat at Carrow Road. Penalty if my memory serves me. Didn't see much of the game was only a young un and couldn't see much on the terraces amongst the Nodge fans. Went with Dad, a Town fan, and Grandad, a Nodger, just rolled up 10 minutes before kick off and in through the home turnstiles. Yes, the River End

Your first derby game attended on 15:22 - Dec 15 by bluelagos | New years day 85. Won 2-0. Stood in the West stand and watched the hoodlums holding up and burning a Naaridge scarf in the North stand. Was hooked. |
I remember that one. Wasn't sure when it was. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Your first derby game attended on 19:28 - Dec 15 with 1377 views | woodbridge_blue | August 1972, lost 1-2, might well have been Beattie's home debut. Things got better from there for a few years.
Your first derby game attended on 19:34 - Dec 15 with 1365 views | ford6600 | 15/8/1972 Town 1 City 2, league match. Briefly trouble in middle of North Stand terracing as skirmish broke out. Was visiting relatives in Ipswich, l lived in Hertfordshire and was the only Leeds supporter in my school, everyone Arsenal Spurs or MU. But this game began my conversion from a glory hunter to supporting a local team as l moved to Ipswich a couple of years later..
Your first derby game attended on 19:54 - Dec 15 with 1348 views | farkenhell | Late 70s at Carrot Rud. 3-3. Gates scored the first. Can't remember much else, other than we were 3-2 up when the lucky @rseholes equalised towards the end. That and coins raining down on us throughout the game. Something of a baptism of fire. Edit to say it was Boxing Day and the first time I heard Hark Now Hear. [Post edited 15 Dec 2023 19:58]

The 1975 2-0 was my first one too. I can’t remember anything about it tbh. Ta for the goalscorer reminders. Edit: I went years without missing a home game against that mob, bar one. The 5-0 match when I was abroad. I wept. [Post edited 15 Dec 2023 19:58]

Your first derby game attended on 21:27 - Dec 15 with 1297 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | Night game. We lost 2-1, it was raining, they got a penalty which was actually a foul outside the box. Was sat in the front seat of my dads car in Portman Road and a pretty huge mob of Ipswich attacked the back of the sporting farmer about 25 minutes before kick off. Mid ninties maybe? Your first derby game attended on 21:46 - Dec 15 with 1267 views | FoD_Blue | Almost 50 years supporting Town, and never been able to get to a derby game. Untill tomorrow, and I can't wait! Cost and distance was always a factor in the past as I left East Anglia at 18 and have never lived close since. Went for my first ever season ticket last season and of course, renewed for this season. What a couple of seasons so far! Worth every hour sat in the car between Gloucestershire and Portman Road (and most away games). COYB!

Norwich's first season in the top league, we thought we'd hammer them, aged 14, I was devastated that we lost. Later that 72/73 season we beat them twice in the Texaco Cup final - wining the cup at carrot road, one of my top 5 games ever - On radio Suffolk last week Mick Mills said it was one of if not his favourite game ever!

They count those Texaco Cup games as European Football https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwich_City_F.C._in_European_football But I could go with that, would mean we have another European trophy.
