They’ve made 4 separate changes outside of half-time according to Sky Sports.

Actually half serious here. Looking at the game stats, they did 4 separate subs in the second half. Two are only a minute apart, but I dont remember it being a double one when Dikes came off. That is an unfair advantage and there should be a strict penalty- same as there would be for playing someone ineligible.

There’s no indication of any rules which would result in a forfeit of the match in this thread. The EFL competition rules don’t specify a sanction either. It’d go to a tribunal but it’d be fairly unprecedented for them to award the result to us. More likely would be that the referee receives a sanction and the result stands. I suspect that they will chalk it up to the changes listed on 55’ and 56’ being during the same stoppage in play with the lengthy injury taken into account.

The two substitutions were in the same subsituation break. By the time the linesman has checked studs of the first sub and fourth official changes the number on the board for the second it has ticked from 55th minute to 56th but it is the same break. Often happens that way. [Post edited 10 Feb 16:14]

If thats right then fair enough, of course. Not how I remember it, as Dike was replaced injured. But may well be correct.

THe one at half time doesn't disrupt the game. The point of the rule was to stop teams wasting time by making five separate substitutions.

West Brom subs? on 15:24 - Feb 10 with 1100 views | pointofblue | Half time doesn't count, as it doesn't result in time wasting or break up in play. So... X - Chalobah for Bartley at half time 1 - Johnston and Dike for Fellows and Thomas-Asante (55/56) 2 - Swift for Dike (65) 3 - Pipa for Weimann (83)

Inexplicable? It was clearly explained. It doesn’t disrupt the game. It’s sensible.
