Lets be honest, they're not going to change peoples minds, are they?

It seems a lot of effort to simply get Rommers to vote for your party of choice.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

I don't think Rommys vote is going to swing it either way.

The rest could spend the next 20 years arguing and still find no common ground.

People should make up their own mind after making and informed choice. Voting for somebody is better than not voting.

I feel that I've taken your advice so far

I'm actually clicking on the threads on here to see if any useful links are ever posted. And I've seen some interesting stuff on the Beeb.

Even though rosindell will win my area, some info on him I've found that he's not a particularly squeaky clean guy as I had thought.

Not that I would've voted for him as he's Conservative anyway.

But you see my point

I think it is very important to vote. Whether it is a general election of Council election.

People will make decisions that affect your life. If you don't vote you are basically letting them get on with it without any input.

What if you make a conscious and informed decision that none of the candidates are worthy of your support? Or if you don't live in a marginal?

You overplay the value of the vote in most cases. It is a system stitched up by the two parties who benefit from it. It's essentially a confidence trick on the population.

I will vote in my forthcoming local elections. I think it's unlikely in the GE, but I've not made my mind up yet. Whatever happens, I already know the identity of my MP for the next five years.

I think people should then set aside party politics and vote for the candidate you believe will represent your area with the best of interests.

Everyone said in the wake of Jo Cox's murder what a wonderful person she was. Before that tragic event, few had heard of her outside of us political anoraks.

Well there are plenty of good hardworking constituency MP's or potential MP's from all sides of the political spectrum out there who you could say the same about.

Unless you are specifically wanting a certain party to be in government then find out as much as you can about your candidates or sitting MP's and vote on that basis.

I doubt, given the choice most constituencies have, that there isn't a candidate who isn't worthy of your vote.

I would suggest you are putting party politics in the way of making an informed decision and wouldn't vote for a candidate of a certain party, not based on how they would represent your community.

I'm tribal. That is pretty obvious. But if you are not then you shouldn't have a problem voting for any candidate.

If we had some form of PR, i'd be way more incentivised to vote as opposed to the present system, where the sitting MP will win irrespective. My lot even voted in Tim Yeo ffs.

Where's your head at now then Rommers?

You've ruled out voting Conservative and Labour and I'm guessing you don't approve of the Lib Dem's brexit policy so are you considering the fringe parties?
