A bit cramped and probably no windows but if all he wants is a bed for the night then Easy Hotel is just along from the library - book via tipadvisor/trivago/etc for cheapest deal if rooms are available. |  |

He might have to compromise on location and look at old school B&Bs. I've stayed in the Lattice Lodge on Woodbridge Road which was fine. A reasonable walk to Waterfront or a short cab ride. |  | | |
