Ipswich are lucky theory 20:31 - Mar 2 with 2660 views | stickymockwell | You make your own luck in life. Mckenna sets his teams up to win. I've never seen a game where he's ever gone for a draw. I think he'd rather get a spankingthan go for a nil nil. If we're 1 or 3 goals up he doesn't make defensive substitutions. He brings on more attacking players. It's why we recover from going behind so often. The oppo managers probably do what Mckenna would rather die doing. If Southgate had 20% of the guts and nerve of Mckenna then England would be the current World and Euro champs. [Post edited 2 Mar 20:33]

We weren't five at the back though. Clarke played in the Burns role.

Ipswich are lucky theory on 22:10 - Mar 2 with 2235 views | Vegtablue | Amen Southgate has cost us! But he is a nice man and a steady Eddie. We've had the most shots in the league and we've faced the second least, which is a lucky position to be in for us fans because it lends itself to lots of wins.

It's almost like we make our own luck or something

Ipswich are lucky theory on 22:39 - Mar 2 with 2066 views | Bluespeed225 | The deflected goals we've had, it's the old 'you can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket'. We have shots, percentages say something will happen! Loving it!

Ipswich are lucky theory on 23:08 - Mar 2 with 1910 views | tractordownsouth | Disagree with the last line. Euro finals fair enough but in the World Cup, we took the game to France and were the better team. We lost because of a penalty miss and some dodgy officiating.

Ipswich are lucky theory on 08:56 - Mar 3 with 1533 views | MK1 | I don't see us as lucky at all. We play the percentage game in front of goal and the odds are that some will go in via deflections etc. That isn't lucky, it is playing the game in the correct manner.

It's also not like we haven't had deflected goals against us, and we've scored at least four own goals as well. Preston beat us off the back of two goals that very, very clearly shouldn't have stood and I'm struggling to think of us scoring a similar one where we've been miles offside or committed a clear foul high up the pitch to win the ball and score. We aren't lucky, we're a very good side.

Ipswich are lucky theory on 09:36 - Mar 3 with 1415 views | Swansea_Blue | The ‘Ipswich are lucky’ theory is also a load of old balls when you look at the evidence. Like complaining we get loads of penalties (we’ve had 2, Leicester 11). Or that we always benefit from own goal (we’ve scored more own goals that anyone else, 5).

We've had more penalties against us than for us, which is a bit mad when you consider how much time we spend in the opposition area versus how much time the opposition are in our area.

It's football fans being football fans. Remember when Norwich constantly scored late winners and Town fans said they were lucky? Or United used to get loads of penalties because they had the ball in the box so often and lots of other fans thought they benefitted from bias? Losing hurts. Easy to lash out, blame or bullsh1t after a loss just to justify it and move on.
