Today was a home game with no pressure (most assumed we'd get battered and we were all but safe), an emotionally charged day and a bumper crowd attended.
Can MM inspire that sort of performance away at Barnsley in January on a cold Tuesday evening and has he learnt enough to do so? |  |

I'd resigned myself to him going but watching him today showed he hasn't t lost his passion.

It worked against all that flair and skill, and it also worked against Burton scrapping for their survival. Back-to-back wins for the first time in ages, players in their right roles...clean sheets in neither, but much more attacking potency such that that needn't be the priority. If MM carries this forward, why not keep him...but time will tell whether we'll start seeing safety-first creeping in again. | | | |

I don't get a vote. If I did I would have to reluctantly say it doesn't make sense.
We need a whole new way of operating or we need to back MM and extend his contract. Another year of the same makes no sense at all. Neither does giving MM a war chest with no new deal IMO. | |

You are right of course but if Town had been set up to play like that all season we would have a lot more points in the bag and be much higher up the table.
Newcastle may not have got out of second gear, or maybe our positive approach made them look poorer. Trouble is there is no way Mick McCarthy is going to keep on top of the game for fifty or so matches( inc cups ). Today he reminded me of Ian Marshall, good servant of the club but always put in an extra effort when his contract was up for renewal.
