I still don’t really understand the Greg Leigh call up / no call up situation but whatever happened, I do think we really benefitted by postponing the Barnsley game and playing it last night with Burns and Broady available. One way to think of it is that we benefitted from the delay.
The other way of thinking about it is that Barnsley fans wanted Ipswich to be artificially weakened by the removal of two of our best players.
Instead they had to play Ipswich first XI.
For any League One Chief Exec who wanted "flexibility" it would surely be worth signing three Gibraltar Under 21s to be part of the training squad. They would get professional development, fitness, nutrition and training against pros, and the club would have 3 international call ups guaranteed of players with British passports, so no work permit requirements. | | | |

I never really saw it like that tbf... Leif had been pinned back for most of the game, defensively, so wasn't really bombing forwards. Barnsley bought on some fresh legs, and we're quite a physical side. Greg was perfect for that situation imo. And obviously pre planned.... What made me chuckle even more, was bringing on the full unit of reinforcements at 3-0 up, when Barnsley looked dead on their feet. Can imagine KMs instructions were just "finish them", lol..... Not really fare, is It? 😠( Thought Harness looked lively btw.) |  | | |
