Lisbie Rejoins Colchester On Loan
Lisbie Rejoins Colchester On Loan
Monday, 3rd Aug 2009 16:37

Striker Kevin Lisbie has joined former club Colchester United on loan for the season. TWTD linked the frontman with a return to the North Essex club almost a month ago.

Lisbie joined the Blues for £750,000 a year ago and is contracted to Town until the summer of 2011.

The deal will see Lisbie remain with the U's until after the play-offs should they finish in League One's top six.

will u farts stop grumbling. Most of you were probably moaning about him last season anyway, good riddence to a rubbish striker with a poor attitude. Keane has done a fantastic job so far by getting rid of the trash and freshening our club up. A couple of strikers and hopefully we'll be on our way to promotion!

Simply, we are not going to attract any big name players, the only players which maybe able todo a job in this league will either be 3rd choice prem strikers, proven retired international strikers.

All the money we had at the start of last season, who did magilton attract? Lisbie........

Strikers we should look at?

Beckford (Wont' be cheap by today market prices)
Koller (simply proven striker at all levels)
Healy (Most probably Keanes mate)
Camera (Marmite talent)
Welbeck (I wish)

GREEKTRACTOR! what world are you in. there is no chance town will gain promotion this year, with the like's of west brom, newcastle, middesbrough and even seff utd, who can attract big players town stand no chace. WE NEED TO BUILD FOR NEXT YEAR!

What a bunch of muppets you lot are. I am gald Lisbe is gone, but so tired of people blaming JM for him not scoring. At the end of the day he is a footballer, he gets paid for putting the ball in the back of the net, or setting up scoring oppertunities. He should be able to that in any team he plays in, if he doesn't then you get rid of him. Blaming JM is the height of ignorance but them most of you muppets are well known for that.

Why Oh Why couldn't we have done this with Rhodes instead of selling him to a club that may sell him for a fortune.
Who's next Wickham?

Lisbie has been disapointing, he may well do better with Colchester, its a different level ,that may well be his limit. This is only my prediction and yes it will piss plenty of people off ,but im intitled to have an opinion ,hope im wrong, but im going to predict a lower than halfway position coming season ,disruption in team ,and dare i say.....RK wont see 2nd season through,....i think he will QUIT........AND NO I WASNT A Jim Magilton fan . Now its said i can sit here and watch all the in coming flack ....well theres sod all on tele .Be glad when its kick off time .

Good luck to Kevin, I am pleased he is not going to play for us this season, his lazy style of playing left me frustrated more than once & I would imagine that it did not take Roy Keane very long to notice the same thing, I believe that Roy looks for a far greater commitment, however, we now must have some reinforcements up front, hopefully of a good quality, then we can really start to look forward to the new season with some confidence.

In Keano we must trust. I think the guy is going about his work in the correct way. Clip the squad to a sensible size and be patient about getting the players who can carry the Town forward. Quick fixes rarely work (look at what Sir Bob did here!).

Build up a team this season and go for promotion next season? I'd be happy with that frankly.

Talking of buying "another striker" do we get any readies from the sale of Darren Bent?

No...this is his second move since he left us...unfortunately doesn't work that way!

It is always unfortunate when things don't work out for a player and this is one of those instances. Good luck at Colchester Lisbie. Bang in a few goals and persuade someone to spend money on you next summer.

what baffles me is that 4 months after he left, so many people feel the need to come on here and slag Jim off on a daily basis. He worked hard for the club but it didn't work out. the new season is just a few days away so surely its time to move on everyone?

Now I have faith in RK.

When he said he wasn't interested in any Cork City players we were surprised that he signed Colin Healy a few days later. Now I don't believe he was telling a fib, I think the interest probably surfaced after this comment.

Now Roy says he might be signing a goalscoring midfielder in the next few days.

Who can that be?

Now a few weeks ago Roy said Giovanni Dos Santos would not be returning to Portman Road. Now I don't believe that was because Roy didn't want him because RK had said he had already spoken to Gio about this coming season and it looked like that Gio didn't consider a return to Ipswich as an option.

Spurs paid £4.7 million for Gio rising to £8.6 million on appearances (not yet achieved). So they may be reluctant to play him if it is going to cost them more and in if in their eyes he doesn't live up to the tag he had in Spain as the new Ronaldinho. Also if they sell him within two years there is a 20% sell on clause. So it may be in their interests to hold him and loan him for another year.

Other Spanish clubs are supposed to be interested but none are forthcoming......

quote:

During his time at Ipswich, Giovani became a fans' favourite and built up a good relationship with the club. Upon heading back to Tottenham he stated that it was a "great experience" and that he "loved the fans" at Ipswich, as well as tipping the club to make a swift return to the Premier League

Lets keep our fingers crossed or am I dreaming.........

Sack the manager now while we still can.. There are plenty of decent managers unemployed atm, get anyone else in before RK ruins this football club! Lisbie could have been a goal machine next season.

I think overhead thetis has got a point, Lisbies only 25 and has so much to offer to the club, the rest of the teams in the league are all laughing at keane now. If we sack RK now and replace him with someone like current chesterfield Boss John Sherridan we'll still have enough time to build an acceptable sqaud before the 31st of August.

Had to happen really didn't it? We need a much better all round striker or two and I for one believe rk has them waiting in the wings. I have a sneaky suspicion we're all going to be pleasantly suprised!! Come on you blues!

the above comments from overhead and abou are typical of the sort of people that are ruining this club. negative keane this, negative keane that. GIVE HIM A CHANCE. yes i thought that lisbie could have done a job for us this season. but to suggest john sherridan? what is wrong with you. for goodness sake let roy keane, our manager, manage our football club. i for one will be giving roy and the boys and fine portman road cheer from my seat in the cobbald when the lads run out for our first game. dont bother turning up with your going to cast judgement. whos with me as we go into battle???

about time he goes, he's never lived up to the 20 goals he got for colchester i'm pleased he's gone back shame only on loan. all i hope is that we have 2/3 new strikers in by end of the window, and the 4-5-1 formation keane plays aint working, if he gets a top striker in he goes 4-4-2 i'll be pleased :)
