FA Write to Keane
FA Write to Keane
Thursday, 20th Aug 2009 12:27

The FA have written to Town boss Roy Keane regarding his comments made about referee Keith Hill prior to Tuesday’s game against Crystal Palace.

Keane is unlikely to receive anything other than a warning for breaching the FA’s new guidelines with the comments made in the wake of the Eagles’ having a perfectly good goal not spotted by the officials at Bristol City on Saturday.

For crying out loud. He was asked a question, deflected it with humour. He wasn't critical of the referee, he didn't place any extra pressure on him. What do they want? Every other question at a press conference to be met with an "I can't answer that in case I get in trouble with the FA."

The Football League transfer panel should be writing to him to ask if he's having a laugh signing the latest clowns.

Let's get real everyone.... Keane is just another Bryan Robson .....great player, garbage manager

on a positive note - lets get this chant started at the next game for the inspiration that is Connor Wickham!

"His name is Wickham,
That's Connor Wickham,
They say he's better than Wayne Rooney.
He will one day play for England,
And he bleeds Ipswich Town FC!”

to the tune of “You Are My Sunshine”

Yorksblue - We've played three games and it hasn't been the start we've all been anticipating, but you're already comparing Keane to Robson???? You are the clown! I don't think you appreciate how much he did for Sunderland. They would certainly not be where they are now without him (and that was his first job, so you could say he is still learning his trade).

I personally thought it was unfair the way the fans turned on Magilton and a disgrace the way the local media hounded him out, but I can see the other side of the coin in which the fans had become impatient as he had three years in the job. However for you pass judgment and abuse Keane after 3 games of the new season is pathetic. I'm afraid it's you who speaks garbage!

Been a reader of this site for a few months now and thought it was time to put my two pennyworth in.
Garvan should be playing week in week out, no matter who is fit!
I saw a load of comments saying that Keane aint the man for this job - He will get us promoted, maybe not this year but def next, and as much as i love Keane being our manager I cannot believe he has not signed two more defenders! Mcauley is so poor its a joke, and dont even get me started on Delany. At the moment our best defence is Thatcher (when fit) Bruce Pim Wright - this defence is not good enough and i would love to see this addressed. Shittu from Bolton would be the man!

Oh and that Wickham song needs to be sung - love it!

callumgarryskeemer i totally agree with your comment on 'mcauley is a joke' - cant stand him and alot of peoplem say to me ahh no your wrong mcauley is well good but hes not - i would rather have Tommy smith or bruce in his place

Leicster got relegated when he was there - and now they've got promoted without him doesnt that show that they didnt need him and we dont either - hes a crap captain and a useless player for our squad - give the captaincy to richard wright and get shittu in instead!!!

£1.2million for him more like £1.20

I see the paranoia is firmly inbedded in the FA. Instead of tackling the real problems of football lets just go after anyone that talks about it. Really Stupid.

Yeah. 3-0 defeat away to Grimsby with the week in week out excuse "we're working hard to put things right" springs to mind.

yorksblue is talking out of an area most of us are comfortably sitting on at the moment, hmmm, much like the FA in this case actually. Nicely linked.

FA are a useless, money-wasting, poor-excuse for an organisation. They always stand up for whoever is in the wrong. They always protect the players when they are idiots then protect the refs when they get it wrong - shame on them I say.

Don't sing the Wickham song, yes it's a very nicely written verse and congrats to whoever made it up, but do you not think there is enough pressure on the poor lad already? It's this kind of thing that did Bowditch in and that's the last thing we need with Wickham seeing as he looks the real deal.

I'd rather challenge someone to write a song about a player who deserves it on merit/effort like Garvan or Pim. Undervalued heroes I would say.
