Sunderland midfielder Grant Leadbitter is reported to have completed his move to the Blues. The 23-year-old is said to have signed a three-year contract.

The joint deal involving Leadbitter and Carlos Edwards is understood to be costing the Blues £4 million after top-ups, with the England U21 international said to make up £2.6 million of that fee.

Town’s signing of Edwards is also thought to be very close to being confirmed.

BrightBlue added 15:14 - Sep 1 I have a feeling there might be something in the Gio loan thing. As most of you will know during the closed season it was spotted that Gio was listed as a town loanee for 2009/10 on the Spurs website and then it was subsequently changed. So why would it have changed again unless he was coming? Unless of course someone on their official site is having a ploay with us!
