Town have given on-loan striker Kevin Lisbie permission to play for Colchester United in their FA Cup first round tie at Bromley on Saturday.

Lisbie is on a season-long loan with the U’s, but manager Roy Keane recently indicated that he intends to recall the former Charlton man in January.

So we're recalling him (allegedly) in January to presumably sell him but will let him get cup-tied which will possibly put off buyers - is this a move to try and force Colchester to buy him?

I imagine the type of club that would be after a player of Lisbie's ability would be out of the cup by January anyway! Or certainly not be too bothered about a player not being eligible to play....

Let's not kid ourselves here. Lisbie was poor for us, Norwich and Charlton. He has found his level at Colchester. They love him, he loves them. Good on him. However, he was a poor JM signing. Roy was right to ship him out and also right to try and cash in in January.

Lisbie was poor but did have a few good games for us but JM signed him up and that season before we did he was 5th top scorer with 17 goals so JM just thought he might do it for us but a shame he did not
