Priskin Confirms QPR Loan Move
Priskin Confirms QPR Loan Move
Monday, 1st Feb 2010 14:55

Town striker Tamás Priskin has told the Hungarian media that he will be joining QPR on loan for the rest of the season with the club subsequently also confirming the move. On Friday, manager Roy Keane insisted that the 23-year-old would not be leaving the club during the transfer window but, having given the frontman a rare start at Preston on Saturday, has changed his mind.

Priskin says the clubs have agreed a deal which will see him go to Loftus Road for the remainder of the season: “I am pleased that the agreement has been made because since the autumn at Ipswich I have played less than I expected. I hope that this will change with my new team.”

The former Watford man, who joined the Blues for £1.7 million is due to meet up with his new team-mates tomorrow.

The Hungarian international, who is contracted to the Blues until 2012, has made 10 starts and nine sub appearances, scoring two goals.

Town hope to complete the loan signing of Daryl Murphy from Sunderland before this afternoon's 5pm deadline.

We want Priskin to play for QPR against us. He's useless. If we get Chopra we've got a chance & Keano is here to stay. If we don't sign anyone or we get a Murphy - the writing is on the wall & Curbs will be in the chair before the daffodils come out.

absolutely gutted , well done the boo boys !

Priskin is , sorry was , the best forward in the club , better than Pablo and Stead , never really had a chance here . I'm really worried now for our season ....even if Murphy comes , he is NOT the goalscorer we need , I honestly believe Priskin is better than all 3 of them . Unless RK has a big signing up his sleeve , we are in BIG trouble . If Priskin does well at QPR , he won't come back to the boo boys , will he ?

wirralblue..where did you get 1.7m for martin from? last i heard it was only 1m and that was just an estimate as the fee wasnt made public.
i would only expect 1 striker to be coming in unless pabs goes aswell
we have stead-murphy (potentially or some1 else) with pabs wickham and walters who is only out for another week maybe 2.

Surco...bit of a contradition there. Keane chops and changes his mind based on a Priskin miss therefore the players are low on confidence and then you admire Keane and Priskin has had a decent crack of the whip. Which is it?

Tamas hasn't performed for Town yet but then no other Town striker has set the world alight this season. He has had 10 starts this season but apart from Saturday (when he did put the ball in the net only for the ref to disallow it) the majority of his games came earlier in the season when the team as a whole was not performing. No striker can perform if the midfield don't create enough chances for them and I'd have liked to see him given an extended run in the team so that he could have built up an understanding with his team mates. However as it is I'd like to see him get some confidence back at QPR and come back to us refreshed and ready to bang in some goals fur us next year.

Now I don't have a crystal ball so don't know what else may happen by 5pm but I think that Chopra or anybody else from Cardiff would be difficult to prize away. This is because despite Cardiff's financial difficulties Peter Risdale has a history of dishing out contracts with high wages which with many modern day footballers being mercenaries has to be taken into consideration. Whilst we have the financial input of Marcus Evans we have to live within some sort of wage structure as not doing so has hardly done clubs like Portsmouth or West Ham any favours.

Things can always change by the deadline but it looks like it maybe a front line of Walters (when back from injury) & Stead with Pablo and Wickham to be used from the bench for the rest of the season.

Keanish read the reports "Priskin is going nowhere " on Friday stated by Keane on Monday he is gone ,surely even the dimmest people can see this as changing his mind ?
Over Priskin playing i think he has played enough to see if he is up to it ,and failed which is why i admire Keane for getting rid ,not that difficult

We have the best striker in the championship- pablo.
unfortuantly the ***** of a manager cant see it and has p****** him around all season.
If its true to form on keenes additions to this team who ever it is will be will be crap.they just keep coming.

My point Surco, you were criticising Keane for changing his mind about Priskin staying, whereas i think it is obvious he was talking the player up in order to get a better deal from the club we are loaning him to

Shocked at this.....out of all our strikers i would rather Pabs moved. I just hope Priskin goes there and scores for fun....which i'm sure he might well do.

Looks like another disappointing window!

Naughton to Middlesborough - would have been a good one.

Martin 'only'cost £1M. £1m overpaid then.It was obvious from the start he was useless.Keane with his bad signings showing more & more signs of desperation.
Virtually all of his signings have been bad & that includes the very overated Leadbitter.
The best disposal would be Keane & bring back Jordan Rhodes & build for the future.
It seems that only us long-term supporters understand the real problem.
Its not just the team that has problems through Keane - its the whole club.

Priskin hasn't had a fair crack but let's face it, under Keane no one has. He rotates more than Benitez but I haven't noticed a Torres or a Gerrard in our squad. If you pay over £1m for a player in the championship you would play them surely? We've never had a settled side, wasted loads of cash, played dull football & guess what . . . we're 4th from bottom! Surprise surprise.

It's a shame for Priskin. He clearly has the skill, but his finishing has been poor. Missed another decent chance on Saturday. Good luck to him.

to be fair the writing has been on the wall with priskin. when we won our first game of the season against derby he had a similar chance to bury the game like he did against west brom last week, he also missed a golden opportunity against preston, so missing chances is 1 thing but he just hasn't been up to it. ok he's short of confidence and could have done with a run in the team but all the time we are in our position we cant carry players trying to give them the confidence they need. He seems to have no grasp of the offside rule which for a professional footballer is worrying but also really poor, for me though with priskin the biggest disappointment is at times he has come on and just hasn't tried hard enough or looked interested. Peterborough at home during the last 15 mins when he came on being a prime example. the fact he has gone to QPR shows that someone sees something in him, if he goes there and gets a few games and scores a few goals then he can come back to us a better player, providing he wants to come back. if he does score for QPR tho the question will be asked, why didn't he do it for us and some of his chances have seemed fairly routine 1 on 1's which he should have scored (Derby, west brom and preston)
