Histon Eyeing Upson
Histon Eyeing Upson

TWTD understands that Cambridgeshire-based Blue Square Premier side Histon were at Wednesday's reserve defeat to Wycombe at Playford Road to keep an eye on Town midfielder Ed Upson.

The 20-year-old scored Town's goal in the 2-1 loss to the Chairboys, having netted twice the previous week at Southend and a penalty a fortnight ago at Norwich.

After that game manager Roy Keane said that Upson, who was suffering with glandular fever earlier in the season, needs to "get a move on with his fitness" if he is to win an extension to his contract which is up in the summer.

The Bury St Edmunds-born player, who scored the winner in the 2005 FA Youth Cup final when only 15, previously spent a loan spell with Stevenage during 2008 and has made two senior appearances for the Blues, both as a sub in the Carling Cup earlier this season.

wouldnt see any point, if we let this lad go, it would go against what ipswich aree all about. I see keane has already done his best to do this, by selling rhodes and haynes, lets see what happens with wickham

chambersm-- poppycock
upson is not good enough it would be no different than players like Sean Friars, Justin miller,Stuart Niven, Nabil abidabadooala whats his face, to name but a few that have left under previous managers they werent good enough.

neither was danny haynes and he had plenty of time in the first team to try and prove otherwise. we arnet a charity case..... we never have and never will keep players that arent good enough.

He's 20 and can't break into the team at all; best for all parties if he moves on. It will be sad, though: with Upson and Trotter gone, it will be just Garvan left of the winning Yoofs.

Blueknight I wouldn't speak too soon about Haynes, he could potentially cause us problems later today !
