I just received this message from a Luton-supporting friend:
"Just read on a Luton message board that Ipswich are buying Matthew Barnes-Homer from Macclesfield. Don't know if it's true but it is an interesting one if so! He was at Luton for a year or so and was bought as a proven out-and-out goalscorer. It never worked for him though. I think his Dad died while he was here, there was some debate if he was ever played in the right position, and a lot of people questioned both his effort and ability. I remember him missing penalties a plenty (maybe unfairly). Most Hatters wanted him to leave in the end - he had a big ego but not a lot of goals! He certainly did better at Macclesfield but I cannot imagine him cutting it as high as the Championship; he has gone through umpteen clubs and failed to settle at almost all of them."
I doubt there's anything to it. |
