Striker Connor Wickham will be in action for the England U17s this evening when they face Greece in their second game at the European U17 Championships in Liechtenstein (Eurosport UK, 6.55pm). The English youngsters beat the Czech Republic 3-1 in their opening match on Tuesday.

Wickham, who is understood to be the subject of a £5 million bid from Spurs, impressed against the Czechs and was involved in England’s second goal, in addition to picking up a booking.

The England youngsters end their group games when they face Turkey on Monday. Wickham has scored five goals in nine games at England U17 level.

Ok, say we get £5m for him, that doesn't mean we're suddenly gonna be able to get whoever we want! we've got to build a team around the likes of Wickham & build a team capable of promotion.

im sorry suffolk? build a team round connor? hes 17! easy he has a massive future but lets be real he people... say january comes round and connors on 10/15 goals hes only gonna have 18months left on that contract... this is where the big boys will come in wiv £2million because then if he says i want to move on and rejects are new 5/6/7 year deal and like beckford he'll walk away on a free! i think 5million is a little short tbh... but if 6/7/8million comes in and the loan back for a year then roy will be thinkin we wud have him nxt season plus cud spend on the targets hes got (chopra, hooper, ect) there is a lot of talent out there we have been lucky to have connor come up and through are rank.... lets all be honest we got ripped off for D.Bent really.... bout 3million in the end and then tottenham pay 15million thats how it goes! i say hold out a little long and see wat the nxt offer is... surely man city gonna be interested soon... they want anyone linked wiv the top4 then they can pay over the odds haha...
im not saying lets cash in on connor but u gotta look at the offers and be think 6/7/8 can bring in 3/4 good players! players who could change a season!

adampasty! talk about negative!!! it's no good having loads of money from selling Connor & not being able to attract a replacement, who are these mysterious 3/4 players you feel are good enough to change a season then?! (assuming they want to play for Town, we can meet there wage demands, etc..) If Connor has scored 10/15 goals by January then we will be at least in the top 6, then we will see how committed ME is, if he chooses to sell Connor we know that we will never get promotion with him in charge of the money, if he really wants success for our club, he will go all out on a push for promotion & turn down a miserable offer of £2m.
