Keane: No Pablo Interest
Keane: No Pablo Interest
Friday, 13th Aug 2010 08:57

Town boss Roy Keane says the Blues are yet to receive any interest in outcast striker Pablo Couñago. The Spaniard has been left out of the last two squads after a bust-up with Keane at the recent friendly with a Spurs XI.

Keane says that despite reports claiming Couñago’s former boss George Burley will look to take him to Crystal Palace, there has so far been no enquiry: “Not one phone call regarding Pablo.”

The 31-year-old won’t be involved in Saturday’s home game against Burnley with Republic of Ireland U19 international Ronan Murray having gone ahead of the one-time Spain U21 international in the pecking order.

This is probably something to do with the fact that he's useless....

Pablo is staying at the club as he doesn't want to go.

Even if the club had lots of intrest and bids it wouldn't change anything as Pablo would block it.

Finally people are starting to realise that we should of tried to ship him out long ago..... Over rated, over paid, lazy, wrong attitude and more interested in money than football, typifies many pro's nowadays unfortunately !

The football fans may have noticed that Pablo was superb at times last season.
But he was given few chances & little to work with, hence to the untrained eye he appeared to under deliver.

Unfortunately we have too many players on the books that won't play again - luckily 1 is on loan so we're not footing his wage bill.

Each game that goes by, Pablo falls further down the pecking order.

You are all talking utter c**p. How do you know he is more interested in money than football?? There has been no interest from other clubs for him to make a move. He is a class act and has performed for ipswich for years. Some people may think he's lazy or lost interest, but he just isn't a speedy player. He plays the game at his own pace, and with alot of skill and control. Look at Berbatov, he's seen as lazy but he is a very very good player. Just not as fast as some.

No one here sees his attitude to training week in week out, so how can we judge his work ethic. He doesn't get the chance on match days anymore. I was upset to hear Keane and Pablo have had a bust up meaning Pabs won't probably get anymore games. I like both Keane and Pabs. They are probably just very different personalities.

Anyway, ALL IPSWICH MOANERS F-OFF! COYB

dietmarvannostrilboy - do you think your fergie!!!!
pabs could be a great player but at 31 prob had his best days, he is typical of the pre keane town player. plays well when he feels like it, and trains hard when he feels like it. just like garvan.

fat boy i stopped reading when i saw you write he performed.

Fatboy.... he has never performed consitently. If he had the right attitude he could play himself into a regular first team spot.

Disappointing.

I think to compare Pablo to Berbatov is a little exagerated as they are leagues apart!!!
However, I salute his previous work for the club but just can't see him fitting in anywhere with this new team that is being built down at portman road... Hey ho players come and they go, so moving on - any news on Scotland??? Thats a striker that will make a much greater impact in my mnd than Pablo doing the off! COYB's

As much as I love Pablo, maybe it's best if he moved on. Failing that he could give 110% in training but by the sounds of things there's more chance of Kevin Lisbie playing for us again.

Pablo will sit out his contract, end of.

I thought Swansea wanted him last season Fatboy?
Joe Royle was right to bomb him out a few years back.
He is lazy and only out for himself. Always been a selfish player who throws himself to ground and his teddy out the pram.
Unfortunately we will be saddled with him until next summer when his contract is up and he will leave with his big wallet.
Cheers Pablo

I'm always amazed to hear people expect players to be given 'opportunies' to work hard and give their best or that they're 'not being motivated' by their managers - isnt £10k a week enough incentive? If you need motivation after £10k a week, then hire a motivational trainer and pocket the other £9K. I dont get 'motivated' by my boss, I take initiative and just get on with what I'm paid and qualified to do! Its called being professional and grateful to have a job.

Err... Sorry to point something out (bedsitfc) Pablo "...at 31 prob had his best days" Am I correct when I say our exciting potential new signing, Jason Scotland, is 31? That's worrying!

what best days??? For all the talent this guy had/ has, he has never been part of any successful team. Says it all really. Can't wait to see the back of him.

Pablo is our most talented player and we should construct our attack around him. This is another reason why I can't take Keane seriously as a manager.

Such a shame someone restrained Pablo when he went for Keano - if he'd managed to land one the club could have sacked him and saved themselves half a million in wages this season...

RK had to sell Jordan Rhodes last season to balance the books because Pablo wouldn't move to Swansea, and it looks like Steady will be sacrificed this season because still no-one wants Pablo!

Pablos main flaw has always been that he doesnt score enough goals, but his hold up play and ability to bring people into the game is better than anyone else at this club, unfortunately his attitude seems to have gone south, i still think he could have played a decent role in the hole behind the strikers as his hold up play is top notch, unfortunately i doesnt seem like he'll play much this season.

To all of you who moan and say he's awful, i bet you were singing his name after the injury time goal against Coventry

OLE, OLE, OLE, OLE, PABLO, PABLO......

Wrong attitude, not prepared to work for his place in the starting line-up. Players like Pablo just have to go if this club wants to head in the right direction.

The trouble is he's on a big wage and he doesn't really care. He was a good player should have got rid of him last season.
True Blue!!

Just to point out Pablo never had a goalscoring problem when he played in a good side that made chances for him. That did not happen last year hence nobody scored many goals.
