Town Confirm Pablo's Palace Loan
Town Confirm Pablo's Palace Loan

Town have confirmed Pablo Couñago’s season-long loan move to Crystal Palace. The Spaniard, whose contract at Portman Road is up at the end of the season, will not be able to play for his new club against the Blues at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Couñago’s move brings to a close the striker’s nine-year connection with the Blues. Palace boss George Burley brought the 31-year-old to Portman Road from Celta Vigo in the summer of 2001 after being impressed with him in action for Spain’s U21s in a friendly against England in which he scored twice.

Having had a less than harmonious relationship with Joe Royle, Couñago returned to Spain and Malaga in the summer of 2005, before Jim Magilton brought him back to Town in the summer of 2007.

In total, Couñago made 147 starts and 95 sub appearances for Town, scoring 62 goals.

Depressed/Chicorytwin - i know where you are coming from, however i think the whole point is Clegg has been almost silent over the last few weeks so rumours will start and things may get blown out of proportion. if he did his PR job probably and addressed the fans now and then this would not happen. he is appearing like an overpaid numpty who knows nothing about football - im sure this isnt the case but he clearly needs to address the needs of the fans, and that is more than anything else to have view on what is going on. im not saying to name possible signings etc but just to be open and honest about maybe why some of these things promises have not been delivered. There seems to be a vast gap between Keane saying we have three on the way and Clegg signing the paperwork - whose fault is that no one knows but as Keane is the one actually talking it appears most of the blame is being put onto the silent board. conspiracy it isnt, as i said before neither party can afford to play such dangerous games......

Well the conspiricy theories on here are quite ridiculous, evans doing this to upset him etc WTF??? the antikeane brigade need to take a step back and have a look! the Magilton has beens have nearly all gone (yes the replacements are not forthcoming YET!!!!!)we have played 4 games and we are unbeaten, we have played two very strong teams beaten one and unlucky to draw against the other WTF is up with some fans? a bit of support might help, maybe keane does it his way but i think that is what he is paid for! Pablo maybe was good once but the last i see of him he was sh*te and would not win you promotion! As i said in previous posts Clegg is the man to produce now and when he DOES perhaps you will finally agree this club has a good future to look foward too...
KEANO KEANO KEANO..............

Was a decent player for us in his 1st spell, but only had 1 half decent season 2nd time around.

Was obviously never gonna play for the club again, so loaning him out is best for everyone.

I expect him to stay in England - given his terrible record in Spain...
