Reserves Lose Friendly at Norwich
Reserves Lose Friendly at Norwich
Wednesday, 17th Nov 2010 00:04

A Town reserves side including Jaime Peters, Luciano Civelli, Shane O’Connor and Ronan Murray lost 2-0 at Norwich City in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday afternoon.

The Canaries netted a goal in the first half and another in the final few minutes of the second period to seal the victory over Chris Kiwomya’s side.

The match had been arranged as the Blues are without a Totesport.com Football Combination East Division fixture until December 7th when they travel to Luton, the December 1st match against Southend at Portman Road having been postponed because of a clash with the Carling Cup quarter-final against West Brom.

Norwich withdrew from the reserve league in the summer and their second string are only playing friendlies this season.

How can it be Keano's fault? I don't understand how every little thing is blamed and hit towards Keane. Seriously this fan base is a disgrace to football. You say he blames us as fans for not being supportive an you think he's trying to find an excuse, well look at us we're just doing the same trying to find an excuse. This club is being destroyed by us more than anything. Keane doesn't wake up every morning thinking in his head "Lets lose today and play sh*te", you have to give good a manager time... All the great managers never succeeded within the first 5-6 years of management and to be able to sustain that form, look at A Ferguson with Manunited.

Yes I agree we're playing sh*te football but if we're true supporters we'll get behind the club no matter what, that's true support. Even if we haven't been playing to the standard this club expects we still have to be backing the team, management and staff. We're being pathetic atm as a club. It's only half way through the season and we're already crying...

Keep faith! COYB

shame it was behind closed doors, would love to know how Civelli and O Connor played - and what has JP done so wrong as to be relegated to the reserves? Hopefully he played right back and showed them how it is done! HK Blue whilst i agree with many of your sentiments, I think we are sometimes are own worse enimies arguing with each other, however im afraid if we have to wait 5/6 years for Keane to come good then we may not have much of a fan base left!!!

How much of a joke is the reserve league setup?!
Town's reserves have only 12 fixtures against Colchester, Watford, Southend, Oxford, Luton & Stevenage Borough. Norwich's reserves don't even have a league and they just play friendlies! How is there any real competition for places in the first team squad when fringe players are never really tested and how does this lack of competition help rehabilitate injured players (Civelli case in point).
Granted you dont want squads being split up and reserves sent off all over the country so a premiership & championship reserve league would not work but the current regional system needs to be opened up, why not a South East to encompass London. A larger division with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs would this not benefit football as a whole?

Once again a reasonably strong town 2nd 11. Loose. When will we see light at the end of the tunnel.

Surely RK can be blamed for not playing the strongest 11 in a reserve friendly. When will we see that this website is overpopulated with whinging muppets?
