Murphy: Blame Us Not the Boss
Murphy: Blame Us Not the Boss
Monday, 13th Dec 2010 13:53

Keeper Brian Murphy says he and his team-mates are to blame for the Blues’ current woes and not manager Roy Keane. Saturday’s defeat at Preston was Town’s sixth successive league loss.

Murphy told the club site: "There should be none of this pointing the finger at the gaffer, he puts the team out but it's down to the players to perform and at the moment - for whatever reason - we are not doing that.

"As players we have to look at ourselves. Each of us has to take responsibility for the performances. We're not playing that badly but we are making mistakes that are costing us and we're not putting the ball in the net at the other end.

"It's just not working for us but we've got to find a way that does work for us. We've got to dig deep as players.

“There is no lack of effort but we need something to go for us. We need that bit of luck but you create luck in football and in life."

Murphy, 27, has been back in the Town side for the last three games but Hungarian keeper Márton Fülöp could be in contention for Saturday's live Sky game with Leicester (KO 5.20pm) after his ankle injury.

This is a Fookin' joke isn't it!!? Are we being taking for mugs or what? My anger is at the management but the longer this, 'blame us not the manager' shi*e appears on here my anger is going to turn against them as well. That's now Kennedy, Delaney, Leadbitter, Norris, O'Dea and Murphy who have stumped up with this drivel...

Was this the plan behind signing irish players, to cover your arse when if you fail!?

Fcuk off murphy! You overpaid tw4ts must play 'eeny meeny miney mo' (sure I haven't spelt that right whilst raging!) to come out in his defence!
The manager (and now players) are fast becoming a friggin laughing stock of the whole country! Christ even the scum were cheering there is only one Keano!
The thing is, having a high profile boss is that when we win it gets noted! similarly when we balls up as we have for the last two years we also get put into the spotlight! So whilst you all relax and appear supposedly to be concerned for us earning tens of thousand of pounds a month! Us Supporters are left to be ridiculed and humiliated week in week out!
Clegg, Keane and most of the journeymen/loanee's that have been spoilt by our club are a fcuking joke! I wish we could get rid of the lot and start again! with the exception of just a few... AND I'm talking about: Chuck, McAuley, Wickham and Peters (maybe one or two others) Oh! Hang on there is a link... All of them were here before Keano came! The rest of the squad is flawed and worthless! Our club has had the fcuking heart ripped out and all you lot can do is come out week in week out with pi$$ poor excuses that are as tranparent as the pi$$ poor tactics adopted every week my Keano!
FORK! COYB's!

whoppit, a majority of people on here want our team to do well, have got behind the manager and given him a reasonable amount of time (this time last year and 3 months into the job clearly isnt enough time to judge, even for those who go week in week out and could give a very realistic view). The majority now however agree that Keane cannot continue to manage the club, but we hold our heads up high and say we did not condem him before he was given sufficient time to show what he could do. So i for one will not be joining you in celebrating, as for me it isnt about being a smart A** in fact its actually rather a sad time for my beloved club, and i feel it says it all when you refer to it being nice that you can be proven right, really am not sure you can call yourself a town fan as our success really doesnt seem to be a priority for you.

I agree Keanish. It winds me up even more when players come on here talking gibberish. They should leave that to us.

This is getting ridiculous of course players will come forward & support the manager. they want to be playing in the next game don't they??
Keane is not ALL that's wrong with ITFC at the moment, but one thing at a time, the first is that he has failed in every aspect of managing our beloved team. He has to go & go now would at least give us the chance to salvage something from our season.

Super_Cooper therefore i assume Fallon will be dropped even from the bench saturday as he has alluded to the fact that all isnt good in the dressing room and that some players may waiting for Keane to go....!! As he has broken the mould of - we must do better, its all our fault not the manager then its likely he will be put in the naughty corner!

Yes I agree whilst the players are partly to
blame surely it is the overall responsibility
of the Manager. Keane should do the decent
thing and go, he is ultimately the person who
chooses the team and makes the bizarre
substitutions week on week.

ok, Murphy, fancy trying out on the left wing? We can put Peters in goal, if he keeps a clean sheet we'll drop him otherwise blame him for the defeat. Full backs are useless and just sit on the bench - after all central defenders are more likely to stop goals - I mean they all know how to clear a ball, don't they?

MarcusSg he has a good kick on him, maybe he is the striker Keane is looking for?

Yes Brian, don't worry, I do blame you and the rest of the players. I also blame ME and the owner. But in football, the buck stops with the manager.

Yawn....

I do blame your manager actually Brian. I believe he bought the players, he chooses the players, he chooses the formation, he chooses the tactics, he chooses the substitutions..i could go on forever.

This is getting sooooo boring!

"dont blame the manager!" How many more times do we have to put up with average players defending the indefensible..... IF YOU PULLED YOUR FU**ING FINGERS OUT, WE WOULDN'T NEED TO BLAME ANYONE WOULD WE! If you don't like it Murphy you can F**k off back to Ireland & take your beloved boss with you!!

I agree with a number of things that have been said already by the guys .... KEANO wants a few more weeks to turn things around? he has messed it up badly in the last 18 months, what good would a few more weeks prove....... I agree, the players are offering the Manager a bit of support, but lets not forget who got these players in the 1st place, lets not forget who picks the team, lets not forget who makes these incredible subs to change the tactics........... lets not forget whose is supposed to be motivating the team ........ yeah, they are right, its the players fault.........

ITFC_james added 21:21 - Dec 13
The players lack passion and many don't play for the shirt just themselves. McCauley and Norris both play for their shirt and apart from that no one else. Keane keeps cropping up with these statements but honestly have you seen any change since the time oh Jim Magilton. Millions have be spent on waste of space Irish players and Sunderland rejects. There's no improvement whatsoever on what we had, we're as good as we were under Jim. Time to go Keane

ITFC_james, i would like to add Jamie Peters and more recently Tamas Prisken, sadly they are rewarded with a place on the bench.....
