Daggers Midfielder Linked Again
Daggers Midfielder Linked Again
Thursday, 28th Apr 2011 12:27

Town are again being linked with Dagenham and Redbridge midfielder Romain Vincelot, along with Championship rivals Burnley, Millwall, Reading and Watford. The Blues were first mentioned in connection with the Frenchman in December when League One Charlton were said to be showing interest, while more recently Norwich City have also been linked.

Vincelot began his career as a right-back but has impressed as a central midfielder since switching roles last season. The 25-year-old previously played in France with Chamois Niortais and Gueugnon.

The Poitiers-born player, who has scored 12 goals this season, has a year remaining on his Daggers’ contract but several of the interested parties are believed to be ready to make bids in the summer.

It's good to know that we are being linked with such well known players!

Don't know him?! If this is a true story at all my view is better concentrate on the key figures first but on the way if an unknown "gem" appears go for it. You never know what this guy can do in the future... But again - we badly need 2 quality strikers (30 goals between them) and this defensive midfielder PJ is talking about and a couple of deffenders I would say. It will be tough for PJ in the summer and I really hope he will do a better job than Jim and Keane. And let us not blame everything on Clegg - PJ is the important player here... Will see...

I thought we all wanted younger eager players from the lower leagues? This is exactly the sort of player we should be looking at - doesn't mean we should/will buy - but it's better than premier league rejects on big money who don't care.

Well, if he's as near as good as his name suggests, get him in, Sir Wins'a'lot!

SACRE BLEU.... Mon Ami

What do ve ave 'ere?
We had better get Inspector Clouseau on this case to check out if it has any foundation....

Yesterday it was Mackail-Smith, before that Vaughan... Tomorrow? Ivor Notion?
Thank god it's a bank holiday tomorrow, so all this tripe wont be banded about as I'll believe it when it actually happens

Its weird that if we are linked with a premier league player this forum says "we should be looking at lower leagues". When we look at lower league players this forum says "never heard of him"..... the mind boggles!

Is this like a porn name? you know - first pets name followed by your dogs favourite food?

Who knows if he is any good? no doubt PJ has asked about 10's if not 100's of players and agents will of course let the info into the public domain to get money for themselves and their Players.

We will be linked on a daily basis with a great many lower, championship and non squad premiership players - if and when we sign someone then we can discuss their various merits. roll on the summer!

i go down to watch the daggers every now and again - my mates a season ticket holder so whenever one is spare i go. He is a good player, i would definitely rather him play at right back than centre midfield. he is very hard working and the crowd down there love him - he gets on the score sheet quite a lot as well for a CM/RB.

Dagger Fan in peace.

Our Club is built on Legends and this bloke is up there amongst them. Sadly we are resigned to loseing him in the summer.

When he came to us he was a right back and think he only played there once. Owing to injuries he went into Centre Mid and played a big part in our push that got us in the play offs. This year he is our top goal scorer and has been diffrent , scored a cracker up at Huddersfield on Monday.

The unusal thing about that was it did not come from his head. He is only average size but christ he can jump and has this ability to hang in the air.

He has also covered at Centre Half this year and did not disappoint. His work rate is second to none and he aint scared, scored a brilliant header away at Colchester earlier this season that has to be seen to be belived. Whilst doing this he knocked himself sparko but was back in our midfield four days later.

We dont want to lose him but if we are to then I think a Club like yours is ideal.

Two games against Brighton who walked our League he was outstanding.

Where ever he ends up he will always be fondly regarded here a true Dagger Legend.

Seems unlikely to me. PJ has already said he wants 'men' and people with experience at this level. With all due respect to this guy - he has no experience at this level so would be surprised if PJ signs him.
