Town have confirmed that Tranmere left-back Aaron Cresswell has signed a three-year deal, as TWTD was first to report yesterday.
Town are yet to agree the compensation due to Tranmere because the Liverpudlian is under 24 years of age, a new offer having been on the table at Prenton Park.
Cresswell made 71 starts and nine sub appearances for Rovers, scoring six goals, having come through their youth system.
A set piece specialist and a tough-tackler, the 5ft 7in tall full-back likes to get forward and also played on the left of midfield when progressing through the ranks at Tranmere.

Great signing - well done. Need more. knowing that PJ much prefers 4-4-2. We desperately desperately need quality in midfield, someone to create and control the game. (as well as a left winger, another defender, maybe a right back and a striker)
Definately worth a punt shrewd business agin by Paul Jewell as not really yet has Marcus Evans had to open his wallet !!! As with the playters that have left ie. Maculey, Norris, Wickham, Brown, Eastman, Bullard, we must still have plenty of money for wages !!!
Excellent news - skysports say Fulham and WBA were interested. If this is true would be even happier as it appears he had good options and chose us ahead of them. Also like what Tranmere fans say about him.
Excellent news. But the best thing is, we either have him for a while as we progress, or can sell him on at a profit later if he continues the progress. Theres been far too many players in recent years that we've bought who we'd never make a profit on.
Personally i don't think we need a striker with Ellington, Chopra, Scotland and Priskin here until one of them moves on. What we do need however is someone to create for them. We're only 2 midfielders and a right back away from being ready to rumble imo. Bullard, a holding midfielder and a natural right back please. COYB.
