Strong Reserves Side to Face Arsenal
Strong Reserves Side to Face Arsenal
Tuesday, 1st Nov 2011 09:15

Town are set to field a strong reserves side for this afternoon’s reserves friendly against Arsenal at Playford Road (KO noon). Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Josh Carson, Daryl Murphy, Tommy Smith, Lee Martin, Colin Healy and Tamás Priskin are all expected to face what’s likely to be a young Gunners line-up.

Manager Paul Jewell said: “It's a strong squad and we've got a lot of players involved that should be keen to impress.

“The game gives some of the players the chance to impress and they should want to stake a claim, irrespective of whether the team is winning or not. We're also playing against Arsenal, so it should be a decent game of football."

Fans are welcome to attend the match.

Yes I'd also like to know whether O'Connor is playing. It's one thing to fail to make the first team squad but if he's not making the reserves that's very strange. Does anyone know what is really going on with Shane?

How can you call this a strong Reserve side when only JET and Martin of the selected players has any sort of chance this year? O'Connor and Hyam came on in the latter stages and made an impact, Priskin looked class and Healy and Martin put in good shifts.
