Town Extend Mitre Kit Contract
Town Extend Mitre Kit Contract
Monday, 28th Nov 2011 13:51

Town have announced a two-year extension to their contract with kit manufacturer Mitre until the end of the 2013/14 season. Mitre have supplied team strips, benchwear and training gear for the last four years.

Blues chief executive Simon Clegg said: “I have been impressed with the quality of Mitre’s products and their experience in the design and manufacture of sportswear is second to none.

“I am pleased that we have concluded a deal which will see a consolidation of the strong partnership that has built up between Mitre and the football club and the continued presence of the sportswear company’s brand on our shirts.”

Mitre’s managing director Gary Hibbert added: “We’re delighted to have extended our partnership for a further two years with Ipswich Town after a successful four years.

“Ipswich is the perfect partner for Mitre, steeped in heritage, with a history that includes an FA Cup win, a UEFA Cup victory and a top five Premiership finish."

Not over the moon with this one, prefered the style and quality of the kit and gear when we had punch.. I feel since weve had Mitre the quality and style is going down hill in my opinion.

Does that mean that this shirt will now last 2 seasons. Also Mr Hibbert please note we have also won the league championship, hence the 3rd star on the shirts you produce.

Not impressed with the quality of the Mitre kits. They are weird sizes too - terrible cut, really wide and the necks are too big.

Again simply re-enforces that Clegg is a businessman and not a football man. Paul Jewell is a good manager.
Go back to help out with 2012 Clegg and get someone in who knows about football.

We haven't had a good kit for years...I won't be buying a Mitre top soon.

This deal is nearly as bad as the official ITFC website.

Right! I was told that the current home shirt is only one season long because we were changing our manufacturers. This was to result in discount off the next home shirt due to it being only one season long.

This now means the discount is out the window? If so what a bunch of money grabbing thieves!

Love the current black away strip but I hope they put a bit more effort/imagination into the next home strip.

Something along the lines of the "powergen" shirt we had 5 or 6 years ago would be nice.

Great. Another two years of crap kits. Will be at least 2014 when I next buy a replica shirt.

No more Black Kits. We have been poop since we have played in Black. Maybe a return to a classic plain orange. That style of 1999/20 was a winner. Ah also Red is another unlucky colour for us.

I would like to see a simpler kit such as completely blue shirt with only a smidgen of white piping, completely white shirts with just the club badge and completely white socks with a graded large ITFC round the top. Somewhat reminiscent of our kit just prior to the club badge change. If you look at every clubs kit they all appear so busy with advertising and the like, look how we would stand out with something different; it certainly won't be for the football at the moment.

all 3 home mitre shirts have been poor. the red shirt ok and the black shirt could have done with a bit of blue piping to make it more of a town shirt. what odds on a third shirt coming out shortly with a white kit next summer. would like to go to addidas or nike.

Shouldnt worry the way we are playing they wont be selling many anyway and nobody would want to be seen out in 1 at the moment.
