Murphy Back for Blues at Leeds
Murphy Back for Blues at Leeds
Saturday, 21st Jan 2012 14:37

Daryl Murphy replacing Josh Carson is Town’s only change for this afternoon’s game against Leeds at Portman Road. The Northern Irish youngster came off with a hamstring injury late in last week’s 2-2 draw with Blackpool.

Carson made the trip as part of an 18 man squad but sits out along with Jack Ainsley with skipper Grant Leadbitter back on the bench.

Leeds make three changes from last week’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, Fabian Delph, Mikael Forssell and Robert Snodgrass replacing Luciano Becchio, Aidan White and Michael Brown.

Full match preview here.

Town: McCarthy, Edwards, Sonko, Smith, Cresswell, Martin, Hyam, Drury, Murphy, Emmanuel-Thomas, Scotland. Subs: Lee-Barrett, Delaney, Leadbitter, Bullard, Chopra.

Leeds United: Lonergan, Thompson, Lees, O'Dea, Pugh, Snodgrass, Clayton, Delph, Townsend, Forssell, McCormack. Subs: M Taylor, Bruce, Brown, Becchio, White.

Who signed the GREAT Sonko? Jewell. A player no one else wanted.

Can't believe we have thrown away another game. The players are just not good enough and being shown up game after game. Combined with a the manager that seems to lack ideas when it comes to seeing out a game when your in winning position is becoming very frustrating. I hoped he would do well but PJ is not our man.

Keep Jewelio until the end of the season. Unfortunately, we'll be in Div1 but he'll never manage again.

its too late to boot Jewell, whoever comes in will be stuck with the same old players. At least Jewell has finally accepted the teams fialings. 2 centre backs and we got a chance. If we stay up we start level with the rest next season so we can attract a better class of player than now and Jewell will be sure as to what needs work this time.

Too late to change, would do more harm than good

Well done Hyam Cressy Martin and Drury though.

Makes me think what the defensive coaches do on the training ground? why has Sonko's form all of a suddern gone down the pan? How we are not in the relegation zone amazes me!!

If Carson was injured then Murphy was a fair call. town played well for 70 minutes until a combination of loanee keeper and Sonko self destructed.
RB x1, CB x2, Richard Wright back in goal with ALB on bench and things will change. Scotland is playing well (please note this Clegg in good time before his contract expires and he goes for free elsewhere) and plenty of options in midfield but apart from Cresswell the defense is a joke and PJ has known about this since he arrived. Is ME holding back on cash? Is Clegg unable to complete a deal? Is PJ unable to identify a decent player and what team to field?
