McKenna With Southgate at Villa
Monday, 13th May 2024 23:27

Town boss Kieran McKenna was pictured with England manager Gareth Southgate at this evening’s 3-3 draw between Aston Villa and Liverpool at Villa Park.

McKenna, who was presumably getting in some early scouting ahead of next season’s Premier League campaign, and Southgate were spotted sitting behind Hollywood actor Tom Hanks.

Hopefully it is Kieran passing some coaching tips onto Southgate and not the other way round!

How about seeing if Tom Hanks is interested in taking a stake in Ipswich.

Maybe discussing eventually taking over from Gareth. Why not? We, (ITFC), have an excellent track record of producing England managers.

Shall we see KM on the touchline next season in a waistcoat imitating forest gump running to adversity . PL a piece of cake.

Southgate to Kieran "So your the best manager in the UK, who do you think I should take to the Euro's?. What tactics should I use?. I am thinking of giving it up, what's the chances of you taking over from me and becoming an Ipswich hattrick of managers for England.

It's a whole month before the transfer window actually opens, but no doubt McKenna & Ashton are already somewhat down the road on deals that can't go through until then.

I wonder if Tom Hanks turned to Kieran and asked "What's all this I hear about Chappers running across the pitch like Forrest Gump ?"

Kieran is saying to Gareth: "What you need is Wolfie at the back, Chappers in attack...."

"so that's how you make an impactful substitution, Gareth. You can actually play those players that you have on the bench."

USA - the bald fella is Monchi. Former Sporting Director at Sevilla (I think also Roma) and presumably, judging by the colour of the tie he's sporting, now Aston Villa.

Tom Hanks apparently took a shine to Villa & became a fan because he liked their name.
Surprised he didn't go for Nottingham instead then.
Can you image him in the stands with the fans shouting "Run Forest, Run"?
