Two Changes for Town
Two Changes for Town
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 19:20

Town boss Paul Jewell has made two changes from the side which lost 3-1 at Leeds 10 days ago. Suspended keeper Alex McCarthy is replaced by Arran Lee-Barrett, while Michael Chopra takes over from Jason Scotland up front.

The Blues would appear to have plenty of options in terms of formation with Lee Martin perhaps taking up his recent role behind the lone striker, in this case Chopra, or into a three-man central midfield in 4-5-1.

Alternatively, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas or Daryl Murphy could join the former Cardiff man in a conventional 4-4-2.

West Ham make two changes with the injured Papa Bouba Diop and Sam Baldock out, but with the latter still in the 16. Matt Taylor and Henri Lansbury take their places.

Former Blues loanee Mark Noble starts for the Hammers. A full match preview can be found here.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Sonko, Smith, Cresswell, Martin, Hyam, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas, Murphy, Chopra. Subs: Wright, Delaney, Bullard, Leadbitter, Scotland.

West Ham: Green, Faubert, McCartney, Tomkins, Reid, Noble, Collison, Nolan, Lansbury, Taylor, Cole. Subs: Baldock, Faye, Nouble, Hall, O'Neil.

A very good night for us in all ways.
A brilliant win. The youngsters tonight were fantastic. Drury was particularly good, his precision balls and running were inspirational.
Not only that, but Blackpool came back from the dead to beat Coventry.
SEVEN POINTS CLEAR OF RELEGATION!
That takes massive pressure off the lads at the Ricoh. All we need to do is draw and ii keeps them right in it.
Not only that but Bristol City and Millwall are well back in it.
Great result and a Great night. Great game at the back by Sonko btw

Top performance tonight just a shame that this will give Jewell false hope that this defence will be fine after all, therefore not bothering to sign anyone before 11!! Lets hope Chopra & JET can show they're worth now!

sirburley, here here, we need a top keeper, and, to be honest, i'm not overly fussed about which defenders we bring in, we need to make them fight for their places, thats all!!

To quote Joe Royle " I felt so low today I could of limbo danced under a snakes belly is an understatement" God did we need that performance tonight.

Congrats to all the boys for a terrific performance in beating the chipeaters.
Football today is all about mobility and pace and it proves that the young boys are needed with the right blend of experience alongside. So pleased for Chops, form is temporary, class is permanent! Hyam has proved how unlucky he has been to be left out for so long. Lee Martin needs to be encouraged to continue in this vein as he has been excellent lately. Great to see Drury given a chance too, I knew he had it in him.

However, we still need 2 CB'S and a right back.

PJ has got to get inside these boys heads and make them believe in themselves and give them the freedom to express their abilty. Jet terrific too, got to keep it up.
