Two Changes for Town
Two Changes for Town
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 19:20

Town boss Paul Jewell has made two changes from the side which lost 3-1 at Leeds 10 days ago. Suspended keeper Alex McCarthy is replaced by Arran Lee-Barrett, while Michael Chopra takes over from Jason Scotland up front.

The Blues would appear to have plenty of options in terms of formation with Lee Martin perhaps taking up his recent role behind the lone striker, in this case Chopra, or into a three-man central midfield in 4-5-1.

Alternatively, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas or Daryl Murphy could join the former Cardiff man in a conventional 4-4-2.

West Ham make two changes with the injured Papa Bouba Diop and Sam Baldock out, but with the latter still in the 16. Matt Taylor and Henri Lansbury take their places.

Former Blues loanee Mark Noble starts for the Hammers. A full match preview can be found here.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Sonko, Smith, Cresswell, Martin, Hyam, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas, Murphy, Chopra. Subs: Wright, Delaney, Bullard, Leadbitter, Scotland.

West Ham: Green, Faubert, McCartney, Tomkins, Reid, Noble, Collison, Nolan, Lansbury, Taylor, Cole. Subs: Baldock, Faye, Nouble, Hall, O'Neil.

Guess we won't be hearing from casanovacrow, fourth et al this evening. Won't be long before they're back and spouting off all their negative rubbish.

Massive confidence boost for the boys and now we just need to build on this in the next few games. A win at Coventry would give a little breathing space.

Amazing result and a nice surprise - what isn't is that the negative post cretins make no comment about PJ's tactics and decisions when things go right. If you cannot support PJ on days like these then dont bother posting at all

just goes to show how fickle our fans are before the game people were sayin what a waste of money it was gonna be and then we put in a performance like that. just a cb needed then we can start to look up. theres no quick fix to this and you have to have a lot lows before things pick up but thats the rollercoaster of ipswich town and i for one am in for the ride

fantastic result against the West Ham scum!!!

Would still like defensive cover but if the boys could perform like that all the time we wouldn't need it!!!

alan brazil... not fickle but honest.. at 5-1 with seconds to go i felt we could go on and win... such is the lack of confidence in our defence , our defence is a massive problem that needs to be addressed, one swallow doesnt make a summer,, but for tonight lets enjoy a fantastic and unexpected result... credit to all the players on the pitch... Ermmm Where did that come from?

Great win tonight.

Thought we defended very well tonight.
Really good team effort.
My biggest worry is once again we have had a poor transfer window which ultimately holding us back as a club moving forward which is EVANS AND CLEGGS Fault. Well done tonight PJ and the boys.

Why can't we play West Ham every week? - this league IS tight, West Ham don't look anyhting special they've just been more consistent than anybody else unlike us! Great result but we cannot afford to get a result like this and then lose to Coventry on Saturday.

Well done lads!

hey no whinging here tonight, but constructive whinging is well deserved and warranted... we have the worst defence in the league and probably the worst defence in town history. and for anyone to feel that should be accepted , quite frankly i find totally surprising ... but lets enjoy a fantastic win, lets face it we have not had many to overdose on, have we..
