Edwards Signs New Deal
Edwards Signs New Deal
Friday, 30th Mar 2012 15:14

Skipper Carlos Edwards has signed the new one-year contract he recently agreed with the Blues. The new terms include an option for a further season.

The 33-year-old, whose current deal was up at the end of June, told the club site: "I'm delighted to be staying here. My family are happy here and this is where I want to see my children grow up.

"I had a word with the manager and the chief executive [Simon Clegg] and told them I would like to stay and then it was just a case of thrashing out a deal.

"Throughout my 13 or so years in English football, I've been moving up and down all over the country. I've reached a stage in my career now where I feel settled and I want to stay put.

"Everything is all done and dusted. I've signed the contract and I'm delighted to be staying at Ipswich. It feels like home."

Certainly, Mr. Consistant. Apt to make the odd blunder, but aren't we all ? Excellent, now he can concentrate solely on his football.
