Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday are the latest two Championship clubs to have approached Portsmouth regarding Town target Joel Ward, according to reports on the south coast. The 22-year-old defender or midfielder is believed to be holding talks with the Seasiders and Owls over the weekend before making a decision on his future next week.

I'm sure there is better out there who want to wear a teams shirt with pride and to play for that club and not its pay packet. Hope we have many more irons in the fire.

I completely understand him taking his time, he has after all put up with a lot at Pompey this season but stayed loyal to his hometown club until the end and I'm sure would rather not be leaving. It is his right to ensure he gets the best deal and according to Pompey sources Blackpool promoted or not look least likely, I'd expect him either at Leeds with his mate Pearce or at Portman Road

He currently holds no allegiance to any club other than presumably Portsmouth.
