Bullard Set for Exit
Bullard Set for Exit
Thursday, 9th Aug 2012 13:31

TWTD understands that Jimmy Bullard will be leaving the Blues before the start of the season. The 33-year-old midfielder has been on the periphery all pre-season and has been left out of the squad for the last two friendlies against West Ham and Colchester, while reports over the weekend indicated that the Blues were looking to offload the one-time England call-up.

Speaking after last night's 2-1 victory at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, manager Paul Jewell said: "At the moment, he's not in the squad, it's as simple as that.

"There are no untoward reasons, I just don't see the point of him sitting on a bench and getting 10-15 minutes."

He added: "Jimmy wants to play football, he works ever so hard in training - at the moment it's just not happening for him."

However, it's our understanding that the midfielder's Town exit is now only a matter of time.

Bullard, understood to be the club's highest earner on wages believed to be more than £15,000-a-week, rejoined the Blues on a permanent basis just under a year ago having had his Hull City contract terminated.

The one-time Peterborough, Wigan and Fulham man had previously enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell during the second half of the 2010/11 season in which he won the Supporters' Club's Player of the Year award.

Lets not forget his performances on loan possibly saved Jewells job and Ipswich from relegation?!!
And now PJ can't get the best out of him having signed him for 'big bucks'?
Its very hard to see here whats really going on but we are clearly going to lose one very talented player and keep at best a very average manager..for the time being anyway?

Alfromcol.... of course his comments dont add up, i expect the real truth is not for public consumption right now. It will probably come out in a book or piers morgans life stories, who can forget the legend that was paul gascoigne spilling his guts out on that show.

I have said many times on here we dont have all the facts. This is a very sad episode i was as pleased as punch when he signed. But this is not a one off, we were warned!

The one thing all itfc fans want is a successful side building towards the future. NO player is bigger than this club and he should leave asap if he is not able to contribute to the above and the club are more qualified to answer this question than us......COYB

Choose one out of three:
Tit-Moron-Numpty

Your grammar leaves a lot to be desired & your expletive at the end is not warranted.

Think it has been inevitable since Luongo was recruited. Shame that Jimmy will have to sign confidentiality agreement, as his side of the story would have been interesting. That said, he is a total plank.

Plenty of 'egg on faces' over this one - including the supporters who ridiculously voted him 'Player of the Season' - absurd.

The Hazter - your attitude, opinion and posts - are absolutely typical of how the Club, and it's support, has changed over the last few years.
