Edu in Mexico
Monday, 13th Aug 2012 18:22

Town’s interest in Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu appears unlikely to make too much progress in the next few days with the 26-year-old in Mexico with the US squad ahead of a friendly on Wednesday.

Asked about the Blues' approach for the Californian earlier today, Town manager Paul Jewell was again remaining tight-lipped.

These upcomming international fixtures really are proving to be a pain in the neck.

This could be scar...Klinsmann is bringing some new players into the squad for the first time...at least Mo should some time on the pitch though. The US has *never* won in Mexico City....and that won't change this week.

will be a quite brilliant signing is jewell pulls this off. but i'm only going on what other people have said, and what one of my mates who supports celtic has said. he said that he's a really good player, and again, that's coming from a celtic fan! COYB!<3

My best mate is a big Rangers fan and says he's been their best player for the last 2 or 3 years by a mile! Hope we can pull this off, it'd be the best championship signing of the summer!

This could actually be good news. While he's out there i'd imagine the chances of anyone else "chattin him up" would be quite small, and with the season around the corner, the less time the better. Would be one hell of a signing!!!!

What was the point of having talks with him if there was going to be no conclusion, might as well have waited until he came back from Mexico, all this does is alert other clubs he's in the throws of moving but not sure to who. Duh!

At first I thought reading the title he was looking at a club in Mexico - phew! That would have been one hell of a snub.

I really do hope we keep in touch with him...*if* it comes off it will be amazing.

Yeah, when I said "south of the border" the other day, I meant exactly that!

TimmyH, given Rangers' situation I doubt there's not a scout in the world that isn't aware Edu would be available whether we met him or not.

If it happens then great but the level of wages this guy could command is way above what we are prepared to pay at the minute, so dont hold your breath!
