Carson in Northern Ireland Squad

Town midfielder Josh Carson has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for the World Cup qualifier away against Portugal on Tuesday 16th October. The 19-year-old, who has won four full caps, was initially named on standby.

Also in the squad is former Blue Alex Bruce, who has changed his international allegiance from the Republic of Ireland, with whom he won two caps in friendlies, to Northern Ireland.

Bruce, now with Hull City, replaces another ex-Town man, West Brom's Gareth McAuley, who is suspended.

Congratulations Josh, you are selected to play for Queen and Country but Paul Jewell does not let you start for your Club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully you will get a game tomorrow. Good luck to NI in their game against Portugal.. What an honour Josh to play on the same pitch as Ronaldo and Nani..............................

Yeah we will be forgetting about him with all these loanee's over the coming weeks - we won't be seeing any of the youth players coming through that's for sure!
