Drury in for N'Daw at Palace
Tuesday, 6th Nov 2012 19:12

Andy Drury returns to the Town side in place of Guirane N’Daw as new manager Mick McCarthy takes charge of the Blues for the second time at Crystal Palace this evening (KO 8pm). The Senegalese international, who was forced off with cramp late in the 1-0 victory at Birmingham on Saturday, is included amongst the subs.

McCarthy may switch his otherwise unchanged side from Saturday’s 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1 to match Palace’s usual formation. The Eagles have their new boss Ian Holloway in charge for the first time.

Former Blues Damien Delaney and Owen Garvan are in the Palace starting line-up, while keeper Lewis Price and one-time Town academy schoolboy Stuart O'Keefe are on the bench. Full match preview here.

Town: Henderson, Edwards (c), Chambers, Higginbotham, Cresswell, Martin, Reo-Coker, Drury, Wellens, Murphy, Campbell. Subs: Loach, Smith, Mohsni, N'Daw, Emmanuel-Thomas, Scotland, Chopra.

Crystal Palace: Speroni, Ward, Ramage, Delaney, Parr, Dikgacoi, Jedinak (c), Bolasie, Garvan, Zaha, Murray. Subs: Price, Blake, Easter, Moxey, O'Keefe, Appiah, Moritz

Mick McCarthy out Paul Jewell In ....haha . What a load of rubbish, sadly nothing less than i expected , Palace are an excellent team with masses of confidence . I think even if God was the helm he couldn't save this crock of crap . Our team is simply woeful and January can't come quick enough for me then at least we will see how much McCarthy has to spend cos he is going to need at least 6 or 7 players to replace the dross we have.

Agree Somerset. it's (only) 5 points from 4th bottom and there are a lot of worse teams than Palace on their current form.

Just to think some were saying we've got a good squad on paper. Im behind Mick all the way, the players are just not up to it simple. I will be happy to finish 4th from bottom. The last 2 muppets have been allowed to put together the worst squad of players in ITFC history.

We all need to stick together to get through this. It's gonna be a bumpy ride but we have a proper manager to see us through this.

Barnsley, Bristol city, Peterborough and sheff wed all lost so no real ground lost.

We should look at the league table at Xmas and then see which direction we are heading.

People can slice the dice anyway they want , ive just been speaking to Peter Taylor ex England under 21 manager. He summed it up when he said. The championship is about winning battles, you need pace and power in ordser to do that and this Ipswich team lack in both those aspects. We have a good manager but he should of been appointed in the summer. Jewels record is the worst of any Ipswich manager in history. He bought these players in. We are in a real mess, the heart and sole of the club is ripped apart and its going to take a massive slice of change to survive. Tonight was like many games where we have been thrashed off the park. We cant defend,we cant score we just have zero going for us other than hope, and hope wont win us games. Im gutted because i sat and watched the obvious unfold before my eyes. This team is sh** , good luck Mick , but the job of saving this bunch of crap is to much ,get rid of a load of them , rebuild the team over the next 2 years .

Let's face it,before saturday I think we would've been happy with 2 draws from both those games ,so i'm happy with 3 points.

Mick's got one hell of a job on his hands though to sort out this lot..arguably the most disjointed we've ever been as a squad..so many loanees,so many out of contract next summer..it's a case of how not to run a football club...I hope Mick's given time and backing to sort the mess out.

Saturday night was such a good feeling. I didnt expect much tonight but didnt see that result happening. What a Bloody let down back to normal no idea and no effort. The only good thing it gives MM a better idea of wasters to get rid of.

I respect your honesty bluefeast, I'm angry but actually paying money and witnessing it unfold must have made you extremeley angry. Feel sorry for Mick who has been introduced to a shambles. I can't wait until January where Mick will waste no time in getting in trusted players who he known will work there socks of for us and for him. Barnsley are on a poor run and have a small squad who cant get points so we have to do our best to hunt them down even though we are rock bottom. Lets hope for a response Saturday.
