No New Injury Doubts Ahead of Huddersfield Trip
Thursday, 21st Feb 2013 15:19

Town boss Mick McCarthy has no new injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s game against fellow strugglers Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium. However, right-back Richard Stearman isn’t training after dislocating his finger during the 2-0 defeat to Watford on Tuesday.

McCarthy said: “Everybody’s OK. Stears dislocated his finger and had a bit of trouble getting it put back together. He was being sedated on Tuesday night but he’s all right now though.

“He’s not here, I’ve just told him to stay away. The last thing I need him to do is train and bang it. We’ll meet him up in Huddersfield on Friday and he’ll be fine for the game.”

The Blues boss says winger Lee Martin came through Tuesday's game well having been absent with a hamstring problem: “I thought he did all right for someone who has been out for three weeks. He’s got a remarkable level of fitness. He got blisters, he was struggling with that.”

Anthony Wordsworth (cracked vertebrae) and Paul Taylor (foot) are the only long-term absentees at present.

Good stuff. Big game this weekend, we've been a better team away from home than at home this season and Huddersfield are in terrible form so quietly hopeful!!

Huddersfield's home form is quite impressive though, beating Palace and drawing with Cardiff and Leicester in the last month or so.

Same side, same formation then, no wonder the opposition have sussed us out.

Huddersfield will be hurting after their defeat at Forest. I suspect we are meeting them at just the wrong moment.

We will need 3 away goals to win I think. I wont bet on it.

0-1 will do it, we are good enough for that!

They may be hurting, but if we score early they will have very little confidence to recover

Earl, surely a settled side is a good thing

The Huddersfield pitch is like a ploughed up field thanks to the Egg Chasers that ground share so I wont be expecting much free flowing passing football. An ugly scappy hard fought 1-0 will do me!

tricky games whether it's Huddersfield or Watford.. if our mighty midfield are awake we will have no probs

Strange to say it about an Ipswich side but a poor surface might help us if we can show the sort of fighting spirit we did against a very good Watford side. Just a little worried who will score our goals can we make a chance or two for Chopra?

Alan lee upfront? Meat and drink for chambers and tommy.
Sticking my neck out on this one as I did a few weeks ago but I'm predicting our biggest away win of the season 3-nil.

If its a crap, scrappy, hard fought 1-0 win I will be happy. There form has been poor, ours hasn't exactly screamed class though. 3 points, COYB
