BBC Radio Suffolk’s Life’s a Pitch is live over Saturday lunchtime (midday to 2pm) with presenter Mark Murphy joined by the show’s regulars, Blues legend Kevin Beattie, football’s youngest pundit Tractorboy and TWTD’s Phil Ham, who will be at Huddersfield ahead of the game. Legendary Town keeper Laurie Sivell is this week’s special guest, while members of the Ipswich Town Ladies side which recently beat Norwich City will also be along.

What are your memories of Sivell’s time between the Portman Road sticks? Will the current Blues get a vital three points at Huddersfield?

Add your thoughts on those questions or anything else via email, the programme’s Facebook page, Mark’s Twitter or during the show by phone on 01473 212121 or text to 81333 starting your message with SFK.

The show can be heard on 95.5FM, 95.9FM, 103.9FM and 104.6FM or online here. Last week's programme can be heard here.

At that time he was one of the shortest keepers in the league, apart I think from Ian McFaul (Newcastle). That did not stop him from collecting crossers into the box and catching them cleanly, something that is very rare now, not so much punching the ball away went on then which was considered a continental trait. The ball was caught cleanly and quickly distributed out to the wings and we had the other team on the defence. His heart and soul were blue and white. We had wingers then!
The only real mistake I saw him make was when attempting to throw the ball out it slipped from his grasp and somehow finished up in our own net against Arsenal away.
Sorry for mentioning that Laurie., but you were a real boyhood hero for me, one of the bravest goalkeepers going.

Laurie's only problem was being around at the same time as PC. In my book the two best keepers ever to wear the Town shirt. Well done Laurie, nice picture.
