Town's crucial UEFA Cup second leg with Inter Milan could be in doubt with fog having already caused many fans to change their travel plans.

Last night many flights to were diverted from several airports including Brescia and Milan Linate. Some fans we have spoken to were redirected from Brescia to Verona only to find that there were no trains running and so faced an expensive taxi ride. In addition to this the 36-hour French Air Traffic Controllers' strike which began at 6pm last night is adding to hassles.

Milan itself doesn't appear too foggy this morning, but it seems that the game could be in question until the last minute, Town secretary David Rose: "We will not know if the game will not be played until very close to kick-off at 9pm Italian time. There is no point in supporters not turning up as we can not tell how the weather will be. We are meeting with UEFA officials this morning to talk about contingency plans but if the game is called off tonight it is likely to be played Friday lunchtime."

Either way it looks like some of Town's massive travelling army of over 8,000 will miss the game with some fans on tight deadlines to make the scheduled kick-off time and many others already on their way should the game kick-off tomorrow.

On the positive side Town trained at the San Siro yesterday evening with Richard Naylor, Chris Makin and Jim Magilton all coming through without problems. Pablo Couñago missed out with a twisted knee.

Inter are expected to start with Ronaldo as well as Christian Vieri, but Town boss George Burley has emphasised the importance of being positive: "To come to Milan and look for just a nil-nil would be very dangerous. But at the same time we need to be solid and tight at the back. Inter Milan have some tremendous attacking players. Christian Vieri has shown over the past three or four weeks he is back to his best with five goals in four games. He one of the best strikers in the world and has helped take Inter to the top of Serie A. Then they have Ronaldo who may start, so you can see how much quality they can bring in. Ronaldo is one of the best strikers in the world and Inter are showing us a lot of respect by putting out their very best team. Ronaldo has not performed as well as he can, when we saw him he only beat three or four players at once. We know we have to be tight and not allow them too much space or we will be in big trouble."
