Tabb Hoping to Agree Deal With Town Thursday, 23rd May 2013 14:28
Loan midfielder Jay Tabb says he hopes to come to an agreement with Town regarding a permanent contract. TWTD revealed that the Blues had offered the 29-year-old free agent terms last month, but the released Reading man says there are still minor hurdles to be overcome.
Tabb, who is understood to have been offered a two-year deal, told Give Me Football that the remaining issues shouldn’t be too difficult to resolve: “I thought it was going to be a done deal but kind of hit a couple of little snags, but nothing too major.
“I'm not a greedy person and it’s not about getting paid lots of money, but at the same time you have to make sure everything is sorted out in the right way.
“I know Mick really wants me and I really want to be there, so hopefully we can come to an agreement and get it sorted out.”
Despite links with Middlesbrough and Birmingham, he says Town is his first choice: "I had a good time there at the end of the season and I think they are going to do really well next year.
“Mick is a class manager and I think he's the right man to take them forward so I'd like to be there.
“I'm settled there as well which is good, but you have to wait and see because at the end of the day it's your job, so you have to see what options are on the table. I'm going to enjoy my holidays and then see where I end up next season.”
Tabb played golf at yesterday's Celebrity Pro-Am competition at Wentworth in a team also featuring Paul McGinley, Steve Rider and Dan Walker.
Elsewhere, former Blues defender Titus Bramble has confirmed he will be leaving Sunderland with his contract up this summer.

Would be a good signing. Its good that he's settled into the side already so he won't need time to adapt or anything. I don't think he's the solution to our left wing problem though, can see him in a more central role if he signs.
Tabb has got to join us and although small, played his heart out against Birmingham. I was in Churchmans...sorry Sir Alf.. and watched him continue to chase a ball that everyone else thought was going out, he slide and got it into the middle of the six yard box on the deck; which would have been an easy tap in if our forwards had also kept chasing. Will be great for Town.
