Town's Barnsley Clash on Sky
Thursday, 29th Aug 2013 15:05

Town's home game against Barnsley has moved to Friday 1st November with a 7.45pm kick-off and will be shown live on Sky. The match was originally scheduled for the following day.

Barnsley's visit to Portman Road will see striker Jason Scotland face his old club.

The game will be the Blues' first covered live by Sky since the Cardiff City home fixture last October.

Town and the Tykes were last in Sky action back in December 2011 when the Blues staged an extraordinary turnaround to win 5-3 having been 2-0 down at half-time.

Oh brilliant, now i have to rush home from work, battle my way down the A140 and A14 on a Friday night to stand in a half empty stadium with about 30 barnsley fans with no atmosphere.
And then have nothing to do on Saturday afternoon.
Thanks for that SKY

Agree Sky the corporation that has ruined Football! - and a strange game to televise? maybe 2 of the relegation candidates come November...

Well said Hennerd. The cost of the Leeds game was exorbitant. Football needs to get real with its pricing. I like many who have supported Town over many decades now have to pick our games. Blue_moon09 needs to realise we ain't all averse to the recession.

This game is in half term. Make it kids for a quid. Sky fee will cover any losses.

Spot on Henners. Although in my time I held a season ticket for over 10 years and went to nearly all away games. That was before I had my kids and pricing went silly! I appreciate the odd game on sky to save myself having to find £100+ for an afternoon out with my son, like I did for Reading and QPR.

Glad I'm not a Tykes fan thats booked train tickets in advance for a 3pm saturday kick off. Sky should f@(k off & leave football alone before it takes it away from the real fans completely. Too many of the F.A. hierarchy are making too much money from Sky to give a toss about the damage that their misdirected funds are doing to football & as such have given up control of our biggest national game. While the rich get richer those left by the wayside will eventually pale into insignificance. Man Utd v Chelsea every week anyone?

Well said! @ whoroundisitanyway - A lot of fat cats in the game from the players, managers, Football Association, agents and even at lower levels to presenters on TV.
This summer has been a mockery for the sums being totted around for transfers - it's pretty obvious with the ridiculous figures going around it's not just the players feeling the benefit, the only idiots in the game are unfortunately the supporters. Sky and Murdoch have ruined English football.

I love the Town - born there, lived there, probably die there if I got trapped on the one-way sytem... But having moved away, without the exhorbitant cost of IpswichPlayer and the once a season trip to see them play at my local club (Middlesbrough) I would get no live enjoyment. This Sky match is great for me and I don't care if they put it on Wednesday morning at 2:37am - I would still set my alarm. I once walked 5 miles in the searing Greek heat of August to find a bar that showed the Town match a few years ago...

I'm sorry that it might mean that some of you are at a loose end on Saturday 2nd November now. May I suggest you fill your day with what I will be doing - watching the recorded game again and again and again as we humiliate the Tykes!

....... why the excitement of 'being on Sky' ?? - would rather not be, playing the way we are.

Let's just hope for much improvement in performance before then - otherwise we could just have to face the ignomity of JS scoring the winning goal !!! ....... no, don't even go there, on second thoughts ... !
