McDermott Rules Himself Out

Leeds boss Brian McDermott has ruled himself out of the running for the Republic of Ireland manager’s job.
McDermott, whose parents are Irish, said he would like the role one day but not yet: “I feel I have been kind of adopted here at Leeds and I owe these supporters.
“The Ireland job is for the future for me. I owe this club and the supporters. I am 100% committed."
McDermott had been viewed as one of the frontrunners to succeed Giovanni Trapattoni, who left his job by mutual consent yesterday, along with with Martin O’Neill, Blues boss Mick McCarthy, former Town manager Roy Keane and Norwich's Chris Hughton.
McCarthy is due to hold his regular pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.
