Marriott Nets Again
Saturday, 30th Nov 2013 21:30

On-loan striker Jack Marriott netted the fourth goal of his loan spell with Woking as the Cards won 3-0 at Hereford United in the FA Trophy this afternoon.

After the game Marriott, who was making his fourth appearance for the Skrill Premier side, tweeted: “Great away win today, delighted to get another goal as well!”

Elsewhere, Elliott Hewitt missed Gillingham’s 4-1 League One defeat at Rotherham with the ankle injury he suffered in the midweek 3-2 victory over Stevenage. David October’s Histon weren’t in action today.

He's a natural goal scorer if ever i've seen one. Really hope he'll be given a proper chance to show his potentisl here. Keep going Jack!

This loan move will be very good for him. Exactly what he needs, competitive football against seasoned footballers. There is of course a gulf of difference between the championship and wokings level ... But goals are goals and its good for the confidence.

He'll certainly learn a lot by playing 1st team football at Woking where points are at stake, albeit a fairly average standard of football. Could do with getting him out on a similar deal to a League 1 or League 2 side next to step him up a level then back at Town in March time for some 1st team involvement here before hitting the ground running next season.

Keep up the good work.

Super Jack - will do someone proud next season - on a 'decent' contract. Mark my words.

........ you all seem to think he will be with us next season - don't be too sure of yourselves !! - this Club needs to get cracking in terms of securing him on a long term contract. Exceptional talent - only needs good Coaching.

He is 19 and needs first team football at a higher level. He may well look at mcCarthy and think when do I get ahead of Nouble.

Marriott will never play for the ITFC first team except possibly a couple of sub appearances. He's far too young, quick and exciting to be given a chance and in any event someone will forget to sort out a proper contract for him. The same goes for Hewitt and Mings both of whom in my view are where the future is at neither of whom will be given the chance. We just don't trust the kids anymore.

carsey - ... the challenge is there for the Club to prove you wrong - my guess is they will fail - therefore proving you to be absolutely correct.
