Apparently , as Ipswich town supporters we must accept to be second best to Norwich city , in financial terms , in youth development , in the quality of players , and in the size of home attendances. we must also accept to pay inflated prices for home matches where we watch the most mundane , negative , and unexciting football ever seen at portman road. we must also accept to blame the manager for this spectacle and accept that without Marcus evans keeping us afloat the club would not exist. the manager imo has done all he can with what he has been given , we no longer get beaten by 5 or 6 goals and he has made us hard to beat. After a season where we did get to the brink of the play -offs , we have sold our best player and re -invested nothing. my acceptance of Marcus evans does not exist , I do not sign up to his philosophy for this club and I never will.
When we recieved the fee for Cresswell we were told that money would be invested in the team, bearing in mind there is no way our wage bill can now be anything like last season's having no longer got ; loach,Edwards,Cresswell,Williams, green, wordsworth,Taylor, ewbanks Blake or Richardson. I realise we must be still paying a percentage of the loan players wages but even so, how has mick seen any of that money invested in the team? And yet there are still monkeys on here wanting him out...who in there right mind do they think would take this on?
Before a ball is kicked at the weekend, it might be worth noting that Norwich have spent more on their team this summer than we have in the last 5 years. While it might be true, that we are now the poor relations of this liason, it is also true that we wouldn't even be playing this game without mick Mccarthy. Those calling for his.head really are out with the washing.
