With the money that has been spent on absolute rubbish, I am surprised he is still there

Keeping pace
at 05:43 13 Sep 2025

Most of the exponents last night have been playing all season ( philogene, Davis, Clarke ) , if they had deployed the pace they showed last night with the quick pass and move attacks against the low block , let's be honest , they would have annihilated both Preston and Derby.
Having said that , last night was a wonderful confidence booster for just about everyone involved. Matusiwa and Cajuste must have brought back memories of Morsy and Luongo at their best and Philogene was the player everyone hoped he would be when we signed him.
Sheffield are not going to be involved at the top end of the league, at least not with the current manager. And stiffer tests are to come, but the clean sheet is certainly something to build on , Blackburn will be much more wary of us next week .

All league games are important
at 04:19 12 Sep 2025

But this one has quite a bit attached to it.
Sheffield United bottom of the league without a point coming to Portman road on sky tv with town struggling to find form .
Yes it sounds set up for a banana skin. But we have to make sure its not. For Players , the will to win , and the manager has to find a way to win, he has lost this never say die attitude in his teams and we simply have to get the desire back tonight and put a bit of fire in our belly's. To lose this or even draw would be a very hard knock indeed

Well we quite clearly haven't got going yet, but this friday we are playing against a side who that phrase applies to even more than itfc.
So while I am far from happy with manager, formation, tactics or signings , I am prepared to watch this game for clear signs of improvement.
If it doesn't appear , I think it will take a totally brainwashed optimist to still be saying trust the process.

How many points in Sept? And will we beat Norwich to start Oct?
at 04:20 9 Sep 2025

If we don't win friday, the pressure really ramps up. I think the points tally for the month could be as low as 2. If we win friday with an improved performance, maybe 9.

A proven premier league manager, we would be mad not to. Only question would be if he was interested in coming here.

Thoughts are going to turn to the starting 11 for friday.
While I don't forsee loads of change, I think maybe one or two will be making debuts.
The back four and goalkeeper apart from right back , will be the usual which takes no guessing at all , barring injuries. Surely Furlong will be playing friday, it strengthens the defence and it is the position he was bought for.
Midfield will surely be Matusiwa and Cajuste, no matter if we have Nunez waiting in the wings. Those two looked like the one success of the Derby game.
It's after that things get difficult. Will Hirst keep his place ( i think so) , will Egeli play( again, i think so) maybe Akpom will get a place and maybe Clarke will too.
Alot of maybes there, but we certainly need the pace injected into the team and once there we need to use it to good effect

There is no way to get round the low block ? That's an interesting one ! So when you are watching town , you don't actually expect us to score ?

Could have asked how every other club is managing with gelling , many of them also have new managers, the physicality that we were supposed to be putting into the team, the changes in back room staff , the use of one formation and set of tactics, which other teams quickly combat and use a low block against week in week out, the subsequent total lack of goals from open play. Plenty they didn't even approach.
