Williams Now Expected to Stay With Town
Monday, 31st Mar 2014 14:28

Crystal Palace are reportedly set to allow midfielder Jonny Williams to stay on loan with the Blues for a second month.

According to the South London Press, Palace will include the expected 24-hour recall during in the 20-year-old Wales international’s second month at Portman Road. Williams’s first month with the Blues is up today.

Town would be able to extend the loan for a second time for up to a maximum of 93 days if Palace don't use their recall and the Blues are still in the play-off hunt at the end of the second month.

Earlier today, Palace boss Tony Pulis said he would assess the fitness of Marouane Chamakh and Dwight Gayle before making a decision on whether to allow Williams to remain with the Blues.

Williams made four starts and two sub appearances and scored once during a highly successful first month at Town.

Brilliant news if it happens. Love watching him play, but Palace won't let him go long term so we need to find someone like him for next year.

Now that we have such a threatening front line and are so close to the play- offs, its imperative that we play an offensive starting line up, dropping Anderson and Hunt and starting games with a front three.

That could well be the defining moment of us reaching the play-offs. What are the odds of us getting promoted and then signing Jonny to lead us into the Prem?? positive thinking!! COYBs

bluefeast. nice idea. just a shame that's not possible, lets hope this isn't just a vicious rumour by the London press tho. would be so disappointing if this turned out to be untrue.

ianmarshall/ what is your point with ur post/link. that is just a rerun of mccarthys post match interview on Saturday. so has no bearing on this latest story. and even if this story is incorrect ypur link is still somewhat spurious.

@ blues 1. It was put on bbc football website just before 4 o clock and the only thing I can find on South London press is what pullis said earlier that " I'll speak to mick" nothing about the latest with the 24 hour recall etc, if you can find it perhaps you could put a link up?

Top news if it materialises. Lets not place to much emphasis on the 'JW impact'. As good as he has been, lets remember the boys that contributed to our promising league position.excited as most of as are, let's remain realistic and appreciate where we are this season, compared to previous years. Many of us are split on the management, very similar to the West Ham situation, but in my opinion I've seen a continued trend of progression, and firmly believe with a couple of new additions and a fully fit squad, next season we will be a force in the Championship. If fate deems otherwise this season, I for one, will embrace the journey.COYB.

most definitely we stand a better chance with him than without him, but the other 10 players need to be on their game with him. I have to say I thought we had a good midfield with Williams . hyam and wordsworth. I certainly wouldn't have changed it to accommodate skuse

Brazil - totally agree with the formation - may be tempted with Wordy in there instead of Skuse ? Still got some real toughies - all of a sudden Burnley without their strike duo are not as potent and they may well already be up by time we play them !
Watford away ( never a fave ) and Bournemouth huge Easter weekend - 2 games in 3 days -
