Murphy Forced Out of Internationals
Wednesday, 4th Jun 2014 15:33

Town striker Daryl Murphy is returning early from the Republic of Ireland’s summer internationals after suffering a thigh injury.

The 31-year-old is coming back to Portman Road for treatment and will miss the US-based friendlies against Costa Rica on Friday and Portugal next Tuesday.

Murphy won his 11th cap as a sub in last week’s 2-1 defeat to Turkey in Dublin and was an unused sub during Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Italy at Craven Cottage.

I think I speak for all of us when I say "I hope it's not serious!!"

Shame for him, wasn't it a while since he'd last played internationally? Now he's out again

I think he is not injured at all and now that his biggest advocate in the Irish setup is heading at Aston Villa, Martin O'Neill probably told Daryl that he can skip the jaunt to NY.

The graft he has put for us this season the guy needs a few weeks off, not to be sat on a bench watching crap v crap.
Glad he is out of there.

Maybe McGoldrick will be called up now, as he was going to be before his injury.
