Correction: McCarthy Tight-Lipped on Bialkowski as Veseli Joins Luzern on Trial Sunday, 13th Jul 2014 11:13 Town boss Mick McCarthy has revealed that Swiss defender Freddie Veseli has been on trial with FC Luzern back in his home country, but refused to be drawn on the club’s interest in Notts County keeper Bartosz Bialkowski. Former Manchester United and Manchester City youngster Veseli, 21, joined Town on a two-year deal last summer after impressing while on trial but made only one Capital One Cup appearance before spending much of the season on loan at Bury. “He went out to Luzern, but he’s back now,” McCarthy said. “I don’t know what’s happening with him until I get back home. They wanted to have a look at him, he went to train with them and we’ll see what’s happened.” Asked about progress on Town's move for Bialkowski — who was left out of the Magpies side which lost 3-1 at Mansfield in a friendly today — McCarthy said: “I don’t know. I never even said there was [progress], never even said I was doing it.” Notts County boss Shaun Derry said earlier in the week that he was aware of Town’s interest in the 27-year-old Pole, who was previously on loan with Town in 2008, but McCarthy remained tight-lipped. “If Shaun spoke about it…if I sign someone you’ll get to hear about it afterwards,” he added. “You know how I deal with that, he’s not my player, is he?” Meanwhile, Jonathan Symonds is switching from his role as one of the club's joint-managing directors to a director's position with Ian Milne now the lone managing director. Symonds is understood to have taken on new responsibilities with the Marcus Evans Group, limiting his involvement with the Blues, while Milne has in any case spent more time at the club since the pair took on their roles in February 2013.
