Berra Signs New Deal
Friday, 12th Sep 2014 10:22

Centre-half Christophe Berra has signed a new three-year deal with the Blues. The new contract, which has been under discussion for the last couple of months, sees the Scotland international, last season’s Player of the Year, tied to Town until June 2017.

“I’m delighted to see Christophe commit to a new contract here,” boss Mick McCarthy told the club site.

“It’s great news for Ipswich Town, as he’s been absolutely fantastic for us since he first walked through the door. It’s superb news.”

The 29-year-old, whose previous terms were up next June, joined the Blues on a free transfer in the summer of 2013 having left Wolves.

Great news, perhaps we have now learned from the MacAuley debacle. Good teams are always built from a solid central defence.

Another signing on fee, another agents fee paid no doubt n increase in wages, if we keep tieing these players down that cressie moeny will have been well spend.

Regardless of that more good news. Now Christophe, keep the goals comming mate!

COYB!

Great to see our top goal scorer looked after.

With a pay rise should come a revised goal target. Perhaps 25 goals this season?

Brilliant! The news out of PR has been good lately, but this is a high point. Top striker on board for another three years - or Mmoney if he leaves (which I hope he doesn't).
