Veseli Linked With Bosnia Switch
Wednesday, 19th Nov 2014 16:14

Blues defender Freddie Veseli, currently on loan with League One Port Vale, is close to agreeing a January move to FK Sarajevo, according reports in Bosnia.

Veseli, who celebrates his 22nd birthday on Thursday, is out of contract at Town at the end of the season and is almost certainly available on a free transfer with manager Mick McCarthy having said the one-time Swiss U21 international has no future at Portman Road.

The former Manchester City and Manchester United trainee is on loan at Vale Park until January 4th.

In addition to FK Sarajevo, who like Cardiff City are owned by Malaysian businessman Vincent Tan, another Sarajevo club FK Olimpic and Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb are also reported to have shown interest.

Veseli joined the Blues on a two-year deal in the summer of 2013 after a trial following his release by the Red Devils. His only appearance for Town was in the Capital One Cup defeat at Stevenage in August 2013.

Of all of Mick's transfer dealings in the summer of '13 I think this was the one that excited me the most. Such a shame it didn't work out but good luck to him if he heads there - Bosnia is beautiful.

Sorry mrbloo I think it's well proven MM knows which players suit his way.If they don't fit or ain't no good get rid so they can play elsewhere.Seems harsh but true. Yep shame we all hope when they sign they're gonna be great

Worth a punt, but didn't quite happen. Hopefully free up some wages for a new addition in January for that important promotion push. Remember Burnley invested very wisely in the January window.

Maybe expected he would waltz into the 1st team? Having been on City and Utd books I could imagine it, that said I never got that impression in interviews he gave. The RB palce was there for the taking, Chambo effectively kept him out of the team and hes a p/t rb.

I guess this is another chance of MM not giving players a chance, just like with Paul Taylor..... Oh wait....
