McCarthy Makes Four Changes
Wednesday, 4th Mar 2015 19:21

Town boss Mick McCarthy has made his promised changes with strike pair Daryl Murphy and Freddie Sears amongst those dropping to the bench.

Chris Wood and ex-Leeds striker Luke Varney are handed their full Blues debuts with Paul Anderson and Jonny Parr starting on the right and left of midfield respectively and Kevin Bru and Richard Chaplow amongst the subs.

Cameron Stewart - who was on loan with the Whites last season - and Paddy Kenny, a former Leeds keeper, Kundai Benyu and Alex Henshall also made the trip but are left out of the 18. Ex-Whites striker Noel Hunt, who is on crutches and expected to be out for the season due to his medial knee ligament injury, was also amongst those to travel.

Leeds: Silvestri, Wootton, Bamba, Bellusci, Cooper, Byram, Cook, Murphy, Mowatt, C Taylor, Sharp. Subs: S Taylor, Berardi, Sloth, Doukara, Antenucci, Cani, Morison.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Mings, Berra, Smith, Skuse, Tabb, Anderson, Parr, Varney, Wood. Subs: Gerken, Clarke, Chaplow, Connolly, Bru, Sears, Murphy. Referee: Mark Brown (East Yorkshire).

Varney?? I wouldn't of said he set the world alight Sunday, but i hope I'm wrong and he bangs in a hat trick

I genuinely believe you could of got someone out of the away section on Sunday who would of had a better game than TABB?..

Wonder how long into the game it takes before common sense kicks in.

This is a joke sears and murphy subs and TABB starting mm you have lost the plot and the game before it has kicked off.

Sat here in Howards "restaurant" which is reserved for visiting fans. Drink choice is Fosters or Strongbow cider. Not a sign of what Leeds used to be famous for - handpulled Tetley's at 1s/6d a pint in 1969. In Mick we trust. Come on you Blues!

This has "sit back, defend the point we start with, and hooooof at every opportunity". Not an ounce of creativity in the side.

Dont understand the dropping of Murphy. But guessing he is tired. Tired of having no service of late that is.

Not worried about Tabb. He has better days than hi team mates. I just do not understand Smith, for me the last 5 matches he has been lacking any concentration and composurer on the ball. He cannot deal with one to one tackling when in possession and time after time has caused issues by passing it back continually.

We are just not positive at the moment and playing football on the deck.

The flu bug from last year has certainly paid a part in our play, as we have not been the same since. That and TV cameras..

Makes sense to drop Murphy, he looks shattered and needs a rest. But unless Sears is injuryed - why? He has began to look sharp and was coming into form last few games!

Let's just wait and see. Could be a master stroke. Why fault the line up before the game even starts.

Mick has lost the plot. He says make changes but he makes them for worse not for better. Tabb should not be in this team and is not better than Bru! Part is a full back not a midfielder! Smith needs to be on the bench and chambers needs to come in the middle because he is a poor right back and parr needs to play at right back where he should be! Sears has done nothing wrong and there is no way you can pick varney ahead of him. Not sure what Stewart has done to be out the squad every week but it is getting rediculous now. Mick has finally lost it because all he does is pick his favourites weather they are good enough or not for this team!

He wont go back to Parr at right back and 4-3-3 because it means his boys will never play.

I really hope I eat my words but this seems delusional - I fear the slide to 10th has begun given the fixture list and MM seemingly losing his mind!

Look, we are quite clearly struggling to keep clean sheets as our defence is not playing so well. By my reckoning, this means that we will more than likely need at least two goals to win. I know, let's drop our leading goal scorer and the lad that actually looks bang in form. Keep faith with that dodgy defence, get Anderson back in and stick fantastic Tabby in the centre of midfield !!!!
WTF???
Could someone please stand next to Mick tonight and give him a running commentary of the game, through a megaphone, because I am convinced that he cannot actually see what happens on the pitch.

Is MM going to go for a win, play 3 strikers, change the playing style and play the right players in the right positions...or insist on hoofball and just the occasional foray into the opponents half? Hope I'm proved wrong on the "attacking" formation he's putting out tonight but I think he has lost it now. Totally bland and uninspiring and it just gets worse. Why doesn't he listen to the popular voice...goals will get us promotion and not hoofing anywhere.

We're doomed Captain Manwairing.
Oh well it was nice being at the top of the table while it lasted.
The slide will continue tonight....go on...prove me wrong lads.

Very surprising team selection, Sears has been on fire not surprised about Murph he has been very quiet since Fulham away.

Not sure what all the negativity about Tabb though, that guy has been superb this season and one of the reasons we are where we are. Crucials tackles & headers in midfield, put his foot in, high energy & has set a few up. Do people watch different games at PR?!

Warkys_Tash added 19:42 - Mar 4
I don see Johnny Parr as a left midfielder though. But for all the moans & groans that we didn't get Ince, Bent & Lingard, Derby have lost back to back!

ok calm down, it looks strange but we have a very small squad and a lot of games. Just remember if someone told you top six at the start of the season you would have kissed their feet.
