Fulham Eyeing Ando
Monday, 27th Apr 2015 20:23

Fulham are keeping tabs on Town midfielder Paul Anderson, TWTD understands.

The 26-year-old’s Blues contract is up at the end of the season, although Town have an option for a further year.

Anderson has been in and out of the Town side this season, making 20 starts and 14 sub appearances, scoring one goal.

The winger, who joined the Blues from Bristol City in a swap deal which saw Jay Emmanuel-Thomas move in the opposite direction in the summer of 2013, was singled out for praise by manager Mick McCarthy following Saturday’s 2-1 home victory over Nottingham Forest.

Also currently due to be out of contract at the end of the season are Elliott Hewitt (although Town have an option for another season), Noel Hunt, Stephen Hunt (but he would automatically get another year if the Blues are promoted), Jay Tabb, Paddy Kenny, Jack Marriott and Anthony Wordsworth.

Loanees Luke Varney and Richard Chaplow will also be out of contract with their parent clubs at the end of the campaign.

Work effort is second to none. Played really well behind the striker when he came on Saturday!

Depends if ME is going to invest in the team. If not, keep him.

Ask yourselves this question, would he get in any other team in the top eight of the championship

Keep him. One of the players who just keeps going.

Other than a few games I personally feel he is very average and would probably make a good League 1 player...but as mentioned no point of getting rid of players if ME is not going to re-invest in the summer! (If we stay in the Championship).

can't fault his enthusiasm and commitment

Cant fault his worth ethic, decent back up so worth keeping - but then again I wouldnt begrudge him first team action if Fulham offered it. Should be looking at signing a wideman or two in the summer anyway so wouldnt be too surprised to see him go

shows how well we've came on or how low they have become they trying too buy our back up

He may well prove to be the difference on Saturday. And at least he is one of the few players who can actually make a cross from a wide position.

I think Mick has done enough to be trusted on who to keep and who to let go. He's got a pretty damn good record and the only complaints fans can have is about the lack of transfer funds to bring in better players. And as we all know, that's not in Mick's hands.

Team spirit also has to be taken into account. Simon Francis at Bournemouth was on 5 Live tonight talking about how Eddie Howe has built that up there and he also compared it to the poor spirit he'd seen at his other clubs. Francis could fairly be described as a journeyman, but he's thrived there. Our team spirit was shocking under Jewell, which continued on from Keane's reign. I remember an away match at Burnley where a very average side tore us apart and our players had no heart and were blaming each other. A real low. We've got short memories us footie fans!

When mick gives him a attacking role he has pace , can beat a man and I most prob our best set piece taker , when defending he's par with tabb

Would like to see him stay. Really good at the start of the season, lost his way but has some pace and quality on the ball.- good set pieces. When in form - decent enough to start and will always give a tireless 30 minutes as a sub. Better without the beard.
Also keep Tabb, a fit Stephen Hunt and possibly Varney - although I suspect his wages will be prohibitive.

Highly under-rated. Always liked him

No offence but I think we got the arse end of the swap with JET.

Not good enough sorry Ando..1 goal in 34 appearances this season for an attacking player says it all especially when you see Bournemouth's wingers getting well into double figures.

Part of the summer clear out for me.

Summer clear out? Are you mad lightning boy? Surely if we want to carry on being successful or become even more successful then we need to keep the core of the squad we have already. A clear out is only a good idea if a side is massively underachieving or ageing, neither of which we are. Obviously we will need a few new players, especially if we do go up but players with the energy and commitment of Anderson would be worth keeping. I actually think he's better than people give him credit for anyway

Some of you live in 'airy fairy land' we have to remember where we were and how desperate things were looking, on no investment this squad has done fantastically well. We're a long way off a Bobby Robson side that some think we are entitled to, but to be in the position we are in now is quite simply remarkable.
The players have worked so hard for Mick, I for one am very proud of them and am proud to be a supporter. Play Offs or not it's been a good season to build on.
If we make the play offs Saturday who knows what can happen!!
PS Congratulations to AFC Bournemouth.....dreams can come true!

worse than JET? Most assists this season in ITFC team despite only 20 starts.

mow_the_lawn added 07:47 - Apr 28
We've yet to see the best of him as MM plays him too defensively in order to protect Chambers. If Parr was at full back we'd get to see him at his effective best - a winger running at players with pace and direction.

I don't think he's the best player we have by any means but he's a very useful squad player with a good attitude. Was well worth swapping JET for. I'd keep him if his wage matches his use to us.

Good squad player. Keep for me.

Agree with most on here that he is very average at best. Not the speedy tricky winger that we really would like to have. Work rate excellent which is no doubt why MM likes him. On Saturday I moaned and groaned when he came on to replace Bishop, but give him his due, he made a good impact. More often than not though, he adds very little by way of creativity.
