Town Closing in On a Sell-Out
Wednesday, 6th May 2015 11:58

Town have now sold 26,400 tickets for Saturday’s home Championship play-off semi-final first leg against Norwich City (Sky Sports 1 from midday, KO 12.15pm).

The club are expecting a sell-out with only around a couple of thousand seats out of the reduced capacity of just under 29,000 left, tickets having gone on general sale at 8am with queues both at Portman Road and online throughout the morning.

Fans can purchase their tickets in person at Planet Blue but the club encourage supporters to buy their tickets online from ITFC Direct. Full ticketing details for the home and away legs can be found on the club site.

Don't listen to listed seats left . Every week I log online to but my tickets and it always has a "sell out" in my section ( upper church mans in away corner ) but when I arrive low and behold 500 empty seats all around me. It's so bad so stones town don't let the 6 of us sit together despite no one else being around us... So what we do is but a cheaper seat downstairs and just sit up top . Two can play that game . I must have saved £150 this season

A full PR (to the extent it can be) - the north stand must lead in unison! The other stands will clap and cheer along, but their repertoire of songs is not strong!
Make some noise for the tractor boys ole ole!

In the past we have had all seater attendances of 30,000+ v Norwich and West Ham so not sure why this game will be just under 29,000.The Corner of Sir Alf was probably only 200-300 seats..... 1000 empty seats as segregation seems well over the top

My point Hegansheroes was how stupid it is to criticise so called fair weather fans on this website.- So many people do though and it winds me up.

How do you measure a loyal supporter
- away at Yeovil last year on a tuesday night?
- home to Yeovil last year on a tuesday night - but travelling only 10 miles to get to the game when you have a paid for season ticket at £20/game anyway?
- away at Port Vale on New Years Day in the rain in the late 80s,
- home to Southampton in the Cup this year and re-arranging your work schedule to get there despite it being on TV?
- pre-season tour of Denmark?
- follow all the games on the radio but have to after the kids on a saturday and cannot afford to take them more than once a year- when there is a deal on?
Who gives a f@ck?
If you support Ipswich and get behind the team you a friend of mine.

Bewilders me that people thought this wouldn't sell out. The biggest game in the club's recent history and people think the price would prevent a sell-out. It's been classed as a Grade A game because that's exactly what it is! I know people may find this hard to pay for, but the club is operating within FFP and this is necessary for the club. Norwich are a much richer club than us in terms of their finances having been in the promise land much more recently, thus they can afford the lower ticket prices for their fans. I for one will be there this Saturday, getting behind the lads and cheering us onto victory! Lets make some noise for the tractor boys!

I cant wait to go mental in the ground and shout my head off. I dont care if i lose my voice for a week after. Lets make it uncomfortable for the norwich team to play by being so partisan and loud. Every norwich player who touches the ball should be booed. Its our home lets be proud and blow the roof off.

Only around 12% of gate receipts for the game go directly to the club. They are protecting their "product" and pricing structure, nothing more.

It's only right this game should sell out, it will be nice to see Portman road full, but were have these part time fans been all season, there all starting to crawl out the woodwork now hope they don't spoil the atmosphere on Saturday..
