Town Confirm Tabb Extension
Monday, 18th May 2015 18:24

Town have confirmed that midfielder Jay Tabb’s contract has been extended for a further year.

As reported earlier, the 31-year-old’s existing deal included a clause for an additional season which the club has activated.

Former Irish U21 international Tabb has made 57 starts and 24 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring four times, since joining Town, initially on loan from Reading, in March 2013.

A squad player at best..runs around a lot but very rarely with or anywhere near the ball.
Gave the ball away on sunday for their 3rd.
Hope he proves us wrong but I doubt it.

Bohslegend, have a day off will you??? It's been a great season and exceed expectations and Mick has made us all proud to be town supporters again, that said we have limitations and short comings. Hard work, hustle and bustle is great, but that will only get you so far, you then need pace, creativity and goals from midfield, it's the one area that needs to be addressed and has needed to be for a long time. If you can't see that then you're even deluded or ignorant or both

The Tabb and Ando decision are totally different.

I am happy that we have Tabby for another year as I believe that he does add something to the team and never lets us down, especially when playing in CM.

I do disagree with the Ando decision but I have to trust MM and if he say's Ando goes, then he goes. Hopefully, we manage to sign him up to another deal before another club comes in for him.

It is a shame that after such a great season, some on here only now focus on the perceived negative's now around the club. MM & TC knows what needs to be done to get us to at least the Play Offs and hopefully Automatic promotion next season.

Phil. The EADT says that player has activated the clause, whereas you infer it was the club. This makes a considerable difference as remarks above indicate.

Im having nightmares already. If this is the vision Mick and Evans has for next season Im worried already. As for transfer news at this club its getting worse as the dust has not even settled on this one. This news clearly sends out a distinct message of penny pinching already by filling gaps with bread and butter players we deserve better..

I respect loyally from a manager but Tabb is now well past his sell by date. He always gives his all and cannot be criticised for that but his legs have now gone and he costs us too many times .. Shame about Hewitt when we have no right back. Hopefully Kyle Hammond will start in this position,

From what I have seen, read and heard this season, I am pleased Tabb stays with the club. He will not be the one to take us into the Premiership, he will not be a starter for us, but he will be valuable as a squadplayer, always working hard, giving his all in every situation, "educating" the young players on their way up.
Getting a team to win is all about having a good mix and players who accept not playing every minute of every game. None of us know who will come in during the summer. At least we can wait to see what will happen before being too critical.

Lets get this clear----nobody hates the guy at all but on football ability alone he is just not good enough for what we want to achieve next season-----end of.

Looks like he and not Mick has activated the clause in his contract so perhaps the boss had no choice and his hands were tied-----anyway there will now be somebody to make the tea and put out the cones.

Good news. I like Tabby, a hard working player who can slot a pass through to create a goal-scoring chance and good in the air for a little chap.

Tabb has been a key part of our squad. Not injury prone, hard working, an option for set pieces, surprisingly good in the air and neat on the ground. He will be an excellent option to have over a long season. Very happy.
